Hey there! So my computer had a little accident this trip and it is not doing well. Bruce replaced the battery case and the battery, the clear cover was actually cracked. We thought that would solve the problem. Yesterday was the off gas day and today on the first dive the computer turned off. I went back to Bruce (he is a very nice man to put up with me) and he took it apart and it turned on again. He is not sure what is going on. He told me to take it out again and see if it stays on. He does have a Sherwood computer I can buy for $299. Does any one know anything about the Sherwoods? I was not planning on buying any gear this year so I have to go with a cheap model. Also, what are the odds that my LDS will honor the warranty if I buy a computer here??????

Any thoughts?????

Tribs - if your LDS carries Sherwood products then they should honor your warranty regardless of where you buy it.

Tribs, if you have anymore problems with your computer, just rent one or an spg. My computer flooded last year and I rented one from Buddys to get me thru the trip untill I could ship it back for warranty here in the states.

Too expensive to rent a computer, I'm here until July 7. My LDS does not list Sherwood on their website. I did find another one not too far from my house that does. I think I should just stop diving. My mask and snorkel went missing today.

Not diving is NOT an option.... sheesh like you could just stop breathing!!!!

Sherwood has been around for a long time...If you like the features, consider buying it and use this trip to become familiar with it...use the web to check out for fair price....and enjoy your trip for all of us!!

I did email my LDS...they don't seem to ever answer. I'm thinking this is just a bad trip and I should give up while I'm still ahead.
