George called me earlier. Seems his boss told him last nite not to bother coming in today, and to go find another job. Well, he went in. The new people took over the dealership. George has a job there. A very secure job. And will be making more $$. And everything is fine!!!!!!!!!!!:-):-):-):-):-):-)
He was so depressed last nite, but didn't tell me anything. He thinks he's making me sick.
It just made me smile, then cry to hear him sounding like himself again!!!:-)

That's why I like hanging out with you PegiSue :-) You're a Take-Charge kinda gal!!

I was just reading this blog - from John Bingham - and I LOVE this part about his trip to Antartica
"The big lesson that I've learned from these Antarctica trips,... is that it's all about preparation. Preparation. Not planning. In Antarctica you can't have a plan. The island makes the decisions, not you. No matter what your plan is, the continent doesn't care.
I've tried to apply that lesson to the rest of my life. I'm focusing more on being prepared and less and less on having a plan.
Whatever life plan I had when I was younger, it certainly hasn't turned out the way I planned. Even the more recent years of my life haven't gone as planned. "

Man, is that true or what!!! Preparation not planned :-) :-) I really like that, especially today :-)

I like that about preparation not planning...very good way to live. We haven't been prepared for what's gone on lately. We will from now on! Cause with everything, it was "I didn't plan on this happening...."

I tell you, I'm just blown away by the heft of those words. As we speak, Guy's SWAT team is throwing a BBQ in honor of his retirement from the team... I don't know why but it brings such tears to my eyes. It's such a big step. One that he has spoken of a lot over the years. I know he is sad to be leaving the team after 14 years but it's time - no one else has been on that long.
Preparation... not planning :-)

I'll peep in later.

Chicken fettucini alfredo here, Jer. PS, only dogs get steaks? lol

Tara, didn't even know your hubby was retiring. What a trip he's had! What an adventure. :-) I like the quote you posted, too. Preparation, not planning. I just read that to the 3 people here in my house and we're having an "umhum" storing that away moment.

Just now getting my wine. Had to quit doing "soon as I got home" 5:30 stuff, and switch back to sunset. We're about there...sunset, that is.

xxx

Hi Kathy :-) Hubby is just retiring from the SWAT team, he's not quite ready to leave the fire department - Yet! Maybe next year :-)

Here is a link to the entire blog where that quote came from John Bingham Blog on trip to Antartica I find him so inspiring, but that one really hit home!

Hi guys, it's me! BC from B
I thought I just have a little peep on what you guys've been up to............and I gave up between the yammi fantasies and the floppy fuzzy bunny slippers. LOL

Bin busy whole day out driving around and while passing the airport I saw that they have painted the wall around the Waterlands Village. VERY NICE!!!!
They have enrolled several young local artists to do the job and what a job they've done.
Several very colorful paintings from flamingo's, fishes and all the good thing Bonaire has to offer.
GREAT JOB!!! a big thumbs up.
Anyway, it will be practically the first thing your eye fall on when you exit the airport.

Nighty night guys and dolls, catch you later :-))))

And, some warm boxed white merlot.

Live large, or watch!

Great News, PegiSue!! I am so happy for you and George. :-)

Haven't read all the threads today, been busy as Tiffany got home late last night and I have been a little pre-occupied and work gets in the way of BT a lot lately. :-(

Hugs to all who need them and heck, hugs to all who want to feel all warm and fuzzy! Got to go tend to hubby who just got back from his first root canal. Ouch! All I can say is I am glad it happened now and not during a dive vacation. :-)

I am tired, tired and more tired!

Boom, big congrats hugs to Guy for his service. Very proud of him!!!

LOL...did I say packed?! :-) Ha I must be fooling somebody!!
It's just a tad overwhelming this time though for some reason! I've been taking lots of deep breaths! Hoppner suitcase is busting at the seams; I can't fit even a poot in there...I tried LOL! So far have a few things for me to wear on feet and behind. Told Patrick I would have to turn things inside out at the rate I'm going as not much else is gonna fit in MY suitcase :-)

Hi ladies, you have been having a ball tonight, PS, it's nice to see you feeling better.

I cooked the t-bones the French way, as Cynde would say "OMG." This should be the only way to cook any prime meats. Want to know how?

A. Take a cooking class in Paris.
B. Work as a line chef for years.
C. Send me cash, and I might tell you the secretes?

Just playing with you, sorry, I'll post it tomorrow. It's based on the top restaurants in Paris. I saw it done and it's way to easy.

I'm ready for some port, Caymus wants to play in the yard, so I bid you all a good evening, And remember, the GUARDS are always watching.

Inmate 1437-6154 signing off.
