Less than 4 weeks to Jamacia...yeah! Today is chamber day, the annual fundraiser for our local Chamber on Catalina Island. We were going to do the chamber day dive, but with Michael's back, we had to cancel. I did donate though and am getting a nice suede coat...lol...

I'd rather be here today, than working, that's for sure!

Did I say GOOD morning earlier?!?!
Well my morning took a poop really fast once at work.

We recently purchased a metal, walk thru baby gate for our office. Bubbles will be coming to work while we're away and the 2 older girls will stay home for their daytime vacay from Miss Demon! Anyhoo, put it up 2 days again and watched her with it. Door also will be shut but gate is 2nd line of defense for the compound
Decided to leave the door open and watch her with the gate. One of the bars is wider than the others and that has been debated the last two day LOL! Just ONE bar!!! But one is all it took.

We flunked gate but Bubbles passed!! Rob was out in our shop (16,000sq. foot building) and I was at my desk, minding my own business. I looked and Bubbles was 1/2 in and 1/2 out of the gate...OYE! Well ya know she's gonna go the rest of the way OUT and viola........she did.

Thankfully Rob was mid way down the building when he saw a black streak and heard a "top of my lungs" scream from Mommy! Bubbles did a walkabout and made it OUTSIDE but stopped when Rob yelled her name! He yelled and then ran the opposite direction; reverse psychology It worked.

Gate now has plexiglass on it. All is well again in Yorkie Compound again. Sheesh....I just want to go away and not worry; THIS DID NOT HELP! Plus I didn't have a change of capri's today!

Patrick, if you're out there. It's a WH kinda day now with DOUBLE smothered, covered, chunked LOL!
Oh and if they sold drinks; I'd be on that too.

Kobi - if life gets away from me and I forget - have a FANTASTIC time on Bonaire - not that you wouldn't.

And it seems I must have missed PS's thread about Kayla crashing as I would have told you all the Boy flipped the 4Runner on Sunday afternoon. Luckily it was just him in the car, luckily no one else was involved and VERY luckily his Mom must have had him wrapped in her arms because honestly - he should have been VERY seriously injured if not dead. He wound up with 8 stitches in his right hand (good thing he's left handed as it wouldn't have worked trying to his AP Biology exam on Monday if he couldn't write) and 7 stitches in his left shoulder blade. When the car finally came to a stop if was on its roof and he managed to climb out the drivers side rear window. The cuts and glass on his hand was from the windshield slamming down on his hand while it was on the steering wheel. We figure that the shoulder blade (which looked like hamburger meat when they started working on it at the hospital) I'm guessing was from him climbing/crawling out from that window as it seemed that there was less than 12 inches of space between the window and the road.

All I can say is that while the car is totalled he is safe and understands that he's not invincible. And gosh - we haven't even made the first payment on his insurance yet as he had his license for just 2.5 weeks. LOL! And no - I didn't freak out - I was a very good girl but I could NOT watch while they were working on his back and hand - that stuff just creeps me out. So my BIG kudos to all those in the medical field.

Good thing we got the new ride last weekend otherwise we'd really be screwed.

So that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Wow!! YoMo - I was just about to head out for a few errands... one last little peek in before I left and this!!
Counting all blessings and Angels that Boy isn't hurt worse. Good on you that you didn't freak out --- I'm freaking out for you!!! Give Boy a slap on the head from me and tell him to be careful out there... his road is just starting and this world needs him!

Mara!!! Tell me, how do we survive teenagers? I thought all was good when Kayla hit 20, but I guess when her brother's right in front of her, on the same road...it doesn't work!! It wasn't Rafe's fault, they hit each other!! I'm glad that Boy is ok!! That's very scary! Just had some bumps and bruises here, no Dr.s needed. I would not have stayed calm. I didn't stay calm as it was. That's why they didn't want me up there, just Dad!
NERF CARS...that's the answer!

PS - I like that idea - nerf cars - or completely solid no collapsing vehicles. oh wait - they do make those -they're called tanks aren't they.

Rafe's truck is like a tank, and Kayla's car sure looks like it got hit by one!!!
I'm waiting for her to post the pic on facebook, then I can post it here. His big ole truck and her smashed up car...lovely!

Kristi - nice picture. And yes - she will just be entering her teen years AARGH! Just pray that she's not a drama queen. The world has way too many of those already. Boy tries very hard to steer clear of any drama - trauma no but drama yes. LOL!

How he'd do on the AP Bio test? Megan's is next week. Her AP English is tomorrow and the Science Seminar (like AP Chem) test was yesterday. It's a stressful time in our household.....Drama....Drama....
