Morning BT! It's going to be a pretty day in Florida today. I've got a busy day today with spin, writing my little 10 minute presentation for tomorrow, going in to work for a while to finish up details for Monday's big meeting, sewing a few "Bubbles" then a little shopping and the beach. Okay, now I'm tired.
Have a great Sunday.

Good Morning Linda and all who follow. We are going to get wet today. Much better weather then last weekend. I have the house and yard clean for she who must be obeyed who is coming home tomorrow. We have a crazy two weeks coming up. We are off to Indiana next weekend for Shawn's wedding, then off to the Keys the following weekend.

This was the artwork for the Marine Quest I went to yesterday in St. Petersburg. It was held on the campus of USF. There were presentations on Seagrasses, Plankton, Florida Panther the whooping cranes, manatee rescue, red tide and much more. They even had touch tanks and aquariums with local fish and of course seahorses. I had fun and got a little sunburned.

Morning Cecil. Thanks for the link to the Glouster cam the other day. My Dad used to take us there in the summer. I love the New England coast. Do you know Motif #1? I think it was in Glouster.

Hi Cecil! Did you post the link before on the comparison between US and Canada's health care? It was written by a gentleman who lived in both countries. I've been trying to find it but cannot and it is driving me crazy! If it was you, would you send it to me please?

Morning Everyone :-)

Linda - I'm tired just thinking of your agenda today!
Cecil - happy diving :-) Beautiful pic
Tom - How 'bout some eggs benedict? Maple bacon, oj & tea, please. Might as well do those muffins too! Wow - just blew my diet but it was sooooo good :-)
Tribs - what are you doing today?

Today is get the garden ready for planting & hopefully get in some lettuce & radishes. Too early for the other stuff. Gotta finish cleaning up too.
It's another beautiful day here - working outside is my therapy :-)
Have a wonderful day everyone :-)

Hi Judy! Gardening sounds like fun. We have one week of school left before finals, so today I am grading their last round of papers. Or at least I am starting to grade them. I received 60 papers on Friday, so I am going to be busy for a few days. :-) I'm hoping that when the husband stops making that sawing noise, we can go grab some breakfast. I'm making a stew in the crock pot for tonight. Hopefully next weekend I can play in the garden for a little bit.

Good morning everyone. :-)
Linda, it's drizzly on this side of the bay...good fishing weather for Larry.

Cooking breakfast now, and it's just eggs with peppers and onions and cheese, and tiny little tea biscuits and turkey bacon. We deserve a good breakfast after our walkathon last night. :-)

The neighbor across the street that walked with us last night is going to give me a manicure and pedicure for free. Can't turn that down, so about 3:00 that's where I'll be. :-)

No plans past that. :-)

Morning again BTers. Kathy, it's sunny here, but when I left for class it was getting overcast. It's funny that we live so close, but our weather can be so different. Hope Larry caught lunch.
Tribs, did you go out for breakfast?
Judy, I probably won't get everything done on my to do list today, but I'll try.
Cecil, thanks for the picture. I LOVED going to that area. We always did nature walks, tourist walks in the little towns, and Dad always put together a great picnic lunch to eat on the granite shores.
Tom, I'm too late for breakfast. What's for lunch.

PS are you in the pool today?

L

Good Morning Linda, Cecil, Tom, Tribs, Judy, Kathy and anyone who slipped in while I type and those to come along...

I actually slept in today- all the way to 7:30am and it's not due to a hangover, just what the old body wanted!!! Guy's still snoring away.
We've got a few goals for the day but nothing too ouststanding or exciting. Plant a lemon tree, clean up the yard, laundry, build a ramp for Rasta and fix the sign for the shop.

I am sore from my workout yesterday, so time for me to go work out the kinks :-)

Kathy I have this vision of you as the Pied Piper walking around your lake and collecting neighbors with each lap. It's a great vision - you're doing Good!!!

I'm sure I'll catch ya'll in a little bit... gotta do that exercise and rustle up some brekkie -Tom save me some, 'kay?

It's looking like it's going to be a beautiful day here, it's sunny but a little on the cool side. The kids and I are not feeling all that well but we are trying to make the best of it.

I have a serious question; any advice on how to give up caffeine (I am a hard core coffee junkie and doc said it's got to stop)! If I appear a little cranky in the next few weeks, uh years, it's because of the lack of caffeine!

Oh yeah, Go San Jose Sharks!!! (insert Jaws music here :-))

Morning RosAnne - I think we'll have about the same weather here. It's hazy now and a tad chilly but good for working in the yard.
Can't think of anything at the moment (as I sip my coffee) to help with the caffeine - well, actually I cut ours down by mixing the hard core with decaf. For a long time Guy had no idea we were drinking decaf.

Well, Guy has rolled out of bed and his tummy is already growling at me :-)

The cats want to go outside but I keep them in till 9am for the neighbors sake. They can be very persuasive though.

Hi All!
No breakfast here - I managed to burn (down to a little black coal) the date-nut bread as it was doing a warm-up in the microwave. Luckily, it is warm and pleasant outside, as now all the doors and windows are open with the fan going full-blast. Cough-cough. Its pretty smokey in here.

The coffee is good, though, out on the deck!

RosAnne - You will have a rockin' headache for three days that Tylenol can't even cut when you give up caffeine, then the physical addiction is over. Trust me.

As for what to drink? I love herb teas. Tazo brand teas are great, and I had some stuff called Diversitea (specifically designed for divers! Google it!) that was wonderful.

There is life after coffee.

Thanks Tara and MzFish! I will dilute my regular with de-caf and instead of my afternoon coffee I am going to try the Tazo tea, I can ice it too. I have a feeling this is going to be tough, I'll go to Costco and stock up on Tylenol now!

Well hello everyone! Yes we did go to breakfast and just got home. Oh my we ate way too much! I had a Belgian waffle with blueberries. Wes had a Belgian waffle with cherries and an omelet! Yikes! It is supposed to be in the 70s today so I am going to talk Wes into heading to Home Depot. We have some screens to replace.

Caffeine...a few of my friends have done the reg/decaf method. It took about two weeks, if I remember correctly. All they did was substitute decaf for reg every time they made it and the substitution increased each time. Example: days one and two, if you use 8 scoops to make a pot, use 7 scoops reg 1 scoop decaf. Days three and four, 6 scoops reg 2 scoops decaf...... It worked for them.

Morning all! My aren't you all busy!

Rosanne, i quite coffee a few years ago cause it didn't like my tummy:-( The headache, yep, the biggest thing was that I felt sluggish a lot, but you'll get over it. I have a few sips in the morning now and that's about it...but then there's my tea addiction...lol!

I THINK we are FINALLY going to get a big screen tv today. I've been bugging Michael for oh, 4 years now, and we have been "LOOKING" for 4 years, he's always, 'the prices are going to come down, technology is changing' blah blah blah. I can't see the TV in the living room well so spend most of my TV time in the bedroom where I don't have eye strain...I think I've got him now as last night in the hot tub he said YES!

After that, it's finishing touch up paint in the house. I got started yesterday touching up each room, then ended up repainting all the baseboards...lol! How do baseboards get so dirty, AND, where do all the little scratches, marks, and dirt come from that get on the walls?

Linda, it turned out to be a BEAUTIFUL sunshiny day after the early morning clouds went away. Ahhh. What could be better than the cleanest breeze with a little fabric softener smell in it? lol Still just 80, not quite pool weather, though people are acting like they're in Bonaire over in the community pool. :-) People are riding their boats around the lake, so it's like a parade, and we all wave. :-)

I took my extensions out this morning. They were the braided in kind, and my head feels so free! lol I'm gonna leave them out for awhile, but I did go to Sally Beauty and get a ponytail so if I feel like having a little longer hair that will work. Extensions, the kind I had, in a pool just were too much trouble!

My client/hairdresser wants to do the kind that are applied with some kind of wax, strand by strand, and they will hold up u/w - the kind the movie stars get for only the cost of the strands. No braids and you can comb straight thru. NOT till the middle of May! I miss the length but love being able to swim without looking like Medusa when I come out. :-) I know I'm silly for liking things like that, but I'm not apologizing for wanting to enter my 50's happy, healthy and looking my best. :-)

Boom, walking the lake after sunset has become such a FUN habit! We are meeting so many more of our neighbors, and all their doggies, too. I get so many sweet little wiggly doggie kisses on my walks I can't wait to go! I can't have another dog, but I do enjoy other people's puppies, immensely. :-) And Larry hounded me for 2 years to walk, and I resisted. Now, I can't WAIT to go...but I walk with girlfriends and he zips around on his bike with 2 neighbor guys. It's just great. :-)

Happy Sunday, All

Give up regular coffee??? Are you guys serious?

Sounds good Kathy, I'm gonna take my extensions out too.

Kini, you might wait until Michaels back is better before having him haul a giant TV around the house. lol

Matched up my dive computer logs to Bonaire dive location today. I think it would be easer if I did it the day I dove... I used pics to try and remember.

The post Bonaire CD pic party was fun last night. What a good group. Lots of laughs.

Putzing around the house and maybe yard work (ugggghhhh) later if the rains holds off.

Enjoy your day.

I hope you feel as good as I do without them, Kiwi. lol Don't make fun of me! :-) I'm just trying to get my pre-40's hair back, and it's fun!

Glad you had a good post Bon party. I'm pre-Bon now, so it's party even if I don't mean to.

I had to help Larry trim the palms, ugh, but it's all done now. And my neighbor who said she was going to do my nails today wants to do them tomorrow as she got a letter from the Harper Valley PTA/HMO, and has to pull all the weeds from her yard. She and her hubby are out there digging up the whole front yard and will have to sod. Just like us, last year. Poor thing, though I do remember the neighbors standing in the road watching me and Larry do that. I believe Rome can be built in a... well...weekend. So I dug up the yard and turned the dirt and pulled all weeds, picked up the sod, and carried it to Larry to lay, and they were all asking us why I was doing all the hard work. :-) Because that's the way it is. But it was done in two days, front and sides and back yard.

Cooking a whole baked chicken rubbed down with rosemary and garlic and butter and a few special spices tonight, with corn on the cob and baked potatoes and chives and no fat sour cream. Then walking, then maybe pool.

I can't complain.

Tribs, I found that link for Canadian Health Care.

I always think of the Home Owners Association as the Harper Valley PTA. I said HMO, but meant, HOA (the hoas!) Can't help it. They tell people to do this, do that, and the woman riding around in a golf cart issuing all these citations has gnomes and frogs and all these ceramics in her gardens - and they offend me! lol She gets to crown a yard each month as "Yard of the month." Well, if I don't add some gnomes I'm never gonna make it, so...I'm never gonna make it! :-)

Anyhow, as supper is simmering, here's my song right now:

I've posted this before, but nobody says it like Jenny C. Riley. (one hit wonder?)

Kiwi, how will we recognize you without your extensions? lol!

kathy, sounds like you've had a nice day. And HOAs do suck. We painted our house about 14 years ago, had the "colors" approved by the HOA, and then we got a letter last November that we had to repaint beccause we didn't have "approved colors" go figure.

WE GOT IT WE GOT IT WE GOT IT! I finally got my big screen TV...as we were driving home, I said "I LOVE YOU...pause....BIG SCREEN TV" and patted the box...Michael thought I was gonna tell him I loved HIM...lol...Anyway, a nice man in the parking lot helped us get it in the car, and we have a dolly at home, so we managed to get it in the house. Michael's putting putting up the thingie on the wall that holds it...pretty soon I'll be having a glass of wine and watching a TV I can see...lol!

Thanks Cecil! You go Kathy - do whatever makes you happy. Life is just too short! I'm a little jealous BC. We are having TV issues - the sound went out. We have compensated by running everything through the DVD surround sound, but we definitely need to buy a new one soon. However...I think a car should come first. LOL!

Off to finish grading. The stew is almost done and the episode of Dr. Who that was on last night (and someone, not me, forgot to record) is being rerun at 6:00. I can't wait! I am such a GEEK!

Back from chores, dinner and lurking in between.
Poor RosAnne - I feel your pain. I should quit my morning cup (a big one)too. Caffeine kills iron and my iron level has been low this last year.
Tribs, good to hear you and hubby finally got a good breakfast.
MzFish, good to see you back on the board. How was your trip to Mexico? I looked for you on the web cam, but didn't see you. Post a picture from that cam if you have one.
Cynde, hope you purchased that TV today.
Steve, sounds like you had a great party last night.
Boom, I'm sore from my workout yesterday, as I was introduced to Bosu. ouch!
Kathy, You'd be proud of my shopping today. I got two pairs of shoes, three tops, and one pair of capri. Is that be plural?
Have a great night y'all.

Evening Everyone :-)
I've got two beautiful ribeyes on the bbq, asparagus steamed with lemon, and roasted baby taters almost ready for dinner.
We didn't get any of our goals done today.... but we had a good one :-) We're both home tomorrow so, as the saying goes; "it's another day!"

Linda, we use the Bosu a lot. It's great to turn on it's back and use for push ups. We do side lunges with a bit of a hop in between - we call it the Froggy :-) We do squats with it - stand on it with your back against a ball on the wall and weights in your hand and squat to a sitting position. And back up of course!! LOL!!! I saw one at Linens and Things today but passed on buying one for home.

Anyway, gotta check on dinner. It's a lovely evening here on the patio. Just a slight breeze and lots of sun.

CB- congrats on the new tv! I totally understand the 'seeing' thing. I have to wear my glasses to really see ours well and you know how small our living room is... it's not like I'm looking long distance or anything.

Good to see you Kiwi!
