Just thought I'd check in to see how everyone was doing..... Yesterday's weigh-in was a bit disappointing because I know that I was down 6, but then went back up 2...(net 4 lbs down, though...not really bad)

I know, I know...DON'T weigh yourself every day.

I'm being good, sticking with it, exercising...I HAVE to...I need my clothes to fit AND I want to be HEALTHY, too! :-)

Happy Tuesday!

Hi. Just checking in. I had a wonderful weekend dancing at a YMCA camp in Edgewater, MD. It is a magical place on a spit of land jutting out into a river as it widens to meet the bay. There were loons diving, a beautiful sunset, a little rain and lots of comraderie and great dancing. I have a little post dancecamp depression, but things are looking up. I ate well, but not to excess. I signed up as vegetarian and ate lots more vegetables, which was good. It's hard not to eat dessert when everyone around you is chowing down, but I kept it to a minimum. Now, however, my metabolism is roaring and I'm always hungry. I'm trying to keep my eyes on the prize.

35 Reasons Not to Diet

car had a flat tire today.
All my grand-kids invaded my house today.
I woke up on the wrong side of the bed - the other side is my diet side
The cat decided to mess in the middle of my bed.
Today was red hat day
Today was girls out day
Today was the big game. All the guys met at the sports bar to watch it.
I have a headache
I have a cold
I hate salads
It was my next door neighbors birthday
We had a potluck at the church
There were so many leftovers from the holidays, I couldn’t let them go to waste
I never have time to eat, I have to go through the drive through.
Some one is always bringing donuts or goodies to work. I can’t hurt their feelings.
It was below zero today.
It was over 100 today
It was raining today
My spouse looked at me funny
My bathroom scales are broken
I lost my pedometer
No one cares how I look
I always fail, so why try
My teeth hurt
I have NO will power
I can’t control my eating habits
I have a hang nail
The vacuum broke
If I lose weight, I won’t have any clothes to wear.
It costs too much to buy healthy foods
I am too tired
I am too stressed
I am too short
I am too tall
I . . I. . .I . . oh well, there was another one, but I forgot.
Anyone else have an excuse why not to lose that extra weight?

Kristi, I do believe that Donna, Eileen, Joyce and myself as well as some other folks are really trying hard to lose some weight and find posting here helps keep them focused on their goal. Your post was on the edge of, well, I really won't go there, but if you don't want to share anything positive or supportive, I would suggest you not post here? Please don't take offense, but when I see a thread that I can't really contribute something constructive, I usually don't post at all. I don't see the joke in your post at all, as I did not think it was very nice to start a thread with the title "Tuesday, No Dieters here!"

All I am trying to say is that you can alienate people with stuff like that, as I said earlier, please don't offense, just thought I would make note of that. I commend anyone who is trying to make a life change and better themselves for the better, I do not think it is very BT like to be starting titles that alienate people here on BT. Enough said, off my soapbox. Just my observations from the outside looking in.

On a lighter note, I am off to walk my 2 miles now, scale was down another pound this morning. Keep up the good work all those who are out there trying! :-)

Note to my fellow inmates.

Please respect what the people on this thread are doing. It's not easy, but they are pulling it off.
I joked about it as well, bad taste on my part.

Thank you,

Inmate 978-202-2024-254

This is there support group, let's respect it.

Jerry, :-) I am pretty thick skinned, but not everyone is as I am in that regard. When I saw the other thread's title, I thought, "WTH, is up with that? Thanks for your kind words and support which you have given here on the dieter's thread in the past too with some great recipes!

Jerry and Debbie...thank you for your supportive words, when I read the other thread title, I thought the same thing, but then I figured...to each his own....wasn't sure how to take the post Kristi put on here... but yes, support is what we need.

Thank you to everyone for being supportive, and by the way, the 2 lbs was back off again today (I know, I know, stay off the scale!)....I'm obsessed!!

Glad to hear you are all doing so well. I had a stressful day, but I was good anyhow!! Hooray for me!! Hooray for us!! :-)

Off to cooking class for me tonight.
I haven't been getting in my running like I'd like -- too distracted :-(
Oh ROY!!!! I did do a quickie yesterday though!

Nice to have a thread to keep the thought running in the right direction....

My Mantra (I really need to say this more often):
~ eat less, eat natural, eat more often, drink more water, exercise more ~

Easy Peasy :-) :-)
Eat Veggies!

Hey guys don't worry what some of these people say about and seem to want to contribute, they may be the lucky ones with the genetic's, and besides I'd like to see more people dedicating themselves to take better care of themselves, might be easier on our health care systems that seem to be overburdened, Keep up the awesome jobs love to hear positives it really does cement things in remember anything completed 21 times equals a habit, great day everyone
