I really enjoy happy hour on Bonaire. I did the good deed at Karels , City Cafe , Buddy Dive , Caribbean Club , that I can remember anyway. I wish we had them here , some silly legal issue. Why are people so happy and nice when a drink is half price? Dive , Rinse Gear , Shower and Shave , Happy Hour , Dine , Bed - repeat daily

That's funny Lloyd.
My trip report from last Jan was:
" Dive , Rinse Gear , Shower and Shave , Sunset Wine time , Dine , Bed - repeat daily."

That's uncanny! other than the sunset wine time , for happy hour dine , we have a lot in common! some people forget to rinse gear

Ever smell my wet suit after three weeks in Bonaire? It would make Chucky sick!

Jerry.. That is exactly the reason I take all my wetsuits to my local cleaner who does tailoring & always make the same silly request.."would you please put a heavy duty stainless zipper on this".
He always laughs. Why oh why the manufacturers don't put crotch zippers on wetsuits I'll never know..After all, immersion diuresis is a real thing.
Of course I've been known to dive with my fly opened; But my suit doesn't stink :-)

Hah! You should try peeing in a semi-dry suit. I resisted for years, but eventually succumbed to the need during back-to-back 90 minute dives. My underwater contortions as I tried to flush my suit would have made a great video and would probably be making the rounds on all the boards if I hadn't been solo diving! ;)

Vince, does your tailor accept wetsuit alterations via mail?

Brad..The last suit which I had "altered" was a 3 mil Henderson hyperstretch.. Oh the tailor complained as to how difficult it was working with the stretchy material. He did a good job though. As far as I'm concerned well worth the minimal cost!

In all honesty I'd sure like to know why manufacturers feel there's no need for a crotch zipper. After all they put them on wrist, ankles, backs etc. One of the mysteries of life I guess.

Here's my recently acquired flushing technique:

Get vertical with your head down, then either exhale from your reg into the collar of your suit or purge your reg up through your suit. You can adjust your body position to get a good flow of air up through both legs of your wetsuit. Takes a little work to get all the air bubbles out of your suit afterwards, but things are much more civilized by the time you get back to the rinse tank.

I have to admit this looks a bit funny, but it's effective.

Vince, I have seen one that did have said crotch zipper. It zipped to the backside of the suit. I'm going to try to find out who made it since I can't recall now. I do know that it was sleeveless and had full legs. Not the best diving suit.

Richard, interesting technique. I'll have to give it a whirl, and it sure sounds like it will help prevent the stretched out necks on my suits!

You guys are hilarious....happy hour to stinky suits in three posts: I'm SO proud of you!

We dive drysuits mostly, so just grow bladders the size of basketballs.

But I was talking to a woman after a dive who went on and on about how much she JUST LOVED her adult diapers! I'm sorry...that's just wrong....use 'em if you want, but please, please, don't corner me in the parking lot at talk about them like they're this year's fashion must....

Barbara: I tried adult diapers under my drysuit; they don't absorb much; kids sleepover pants work much better, if you can find a size that fits. Nowadays I just make sure the boat I'm on has a working head.

Some of the women in my area are using a new item with their drysuits that allows them to use a pee-valve just like the guys. There's something inherently wrong with that...

Wow , i cant believe i started this thread! For new divers , this is why you never , never rinse your regs in a public rinse tank , someone before you rinsed his or her suit in that tank , lesson two , buy a suit that will keep you warm without having to warm up from inside . lesson three , always go before your dive , whether you need to or not . ok the apology , sorry this thread ended up in dining , not for the faint of heart

Natalie....I can't heeeer you....la la la la....

I'm sure there's a web site somewhere featuring women with pee valves, but I'm not looking....

There's be a time and place for adult diapers if we all live that long, but I'm not wearing them for recreation.....

My response... Nah, can't write it here.. :-)

LMAO...how did I miss all this fun?

Vince, how long is the zipper, inquiring minds want to know..

Hey, CB, the stadium pal COMES IN SIZES....oh my! And does this mean I can't tell you about my new idea to keep from peeing in my drysuit?LMAO...

Beau, I've seen Tommy Joe's teacup sine...and yes, I was UP STREAM at the time thank goodness.

I do like the upside down inflator idea...I usually try to pull the legs of my wetsuit up and unzip my booties to get some "water flowing" so if you see me doing that, well, you know what I been doin...lol!

Linda, David Sedaris is so droll..."32 oz of piping hot urine"...all his stuff is good.

BC, Richard, you do WHAT????

I claim that peeing in you suit is like revenge...initially satisfying, but discomforting in the long run....
