Good Morning all...how was yesterday for everyone...seems like it's a busy time of year for everyone...I stuck to my diet yesterday in spite of the fact it was an INCREDIBLY stressful day....I even resisted a 2nd slice of pizza at lunch when it was literally handed to me!! I LOVE pizza..that takes WILLPOWER, believe me!!

Today I had plans to go somewhere with a friend, but I have to work instead :-( because someone else is sick. I'm NOT happy about that, but I'm NOT going to BINGE EAT to soothe myself as I often do.....:-) :-) :-)

ok...venting over...have a good diet day all....

Debbie, thanks for the Suzanne Sommers info. The diet sounds interesting....I may have to get the book and give it a try when I hit a plateau and need a change.

I hope everyone else is doing well!

Run around in a bikini after work (at home! lol), that will help motivate 'ya.

We walked last night and did some stretchies with the hand weights. Tonight it's ab work. And I am continuing to eat tiny portions. Everybody else can have a plate, I get a little styrofoam bowl. :-)

I just had oatmeal with raisins. Terry went to get us some coffee before I take off for Orlando and before the guys show up for the a/c installation. I've packed an orange and peanut butter crackers for the road trip. Hope there's no traffic. (Wishful thinking)

This morning was my typical breakfast - small container of lowfat cottage cheese and then later I'll have yogurt with "nutty nuggets" or something like that in it. Pete and I did our 3 miles last night and today is 15 minutes of cross training. Don't know how I'll do that as I am driving to Indy this afternoon but I'll figure something out.

Kathy - your comment about the plate reminded me of something that I had forgotten - I eat almost ALL of my meals on small salad size plates. That also helps to keep my portions down and reminds me that this is exactly what I should be eating and NOT trying to cram a full plate of food in my pouch.

Last night on BBC America News they were talking about a restaurant that is now serving "half portions" and the final side comment was... these American half portions are the size of a regular portion in most of the rest of the world...and it's true. The portions in most restaurants are ENORMOUS and they needn't be.

Ok - later alligators.

Hi. I was having trouble getting the scale to move down, my pants were getting a little tight. I was thinking about other diets, something to jump start me. Well, Sunday morning I woke up with a screaming migraine. I ran to the bathroom and emptied myself, then started taking Imitrex. For once, it didn't work and I laid in bed with the pillow over my head, not eating or drinking for 48 hours. My doctor put me on Prednisone to reduce the inflammation and now I feel great. My appetite is definitely back and I am active again. At least I lost 2 lbs and am very motivated to keep it dropping for at least 3 more. I guess that comes under silver lining.

I'm also looking at ways to reduce the stress in my life. There are too many things coming from different directions, not all of them bad, but all needing attention and decisions. Breathe deep...one step at a time...Ohmmm.

I've been sick (and I mean really, really sick) for the past two days. I'm not sure what is going around, but it seems like I have it. Sore throat, congestion, cough, aches, etc. YUCK!

As a result, I haven't eaten much of anything, just bites of whatever sounds tolerable at any given moment. Not the best strategy, but I agree with JoyceD....that may be the silver lining of being under the weather. Especially since working out has been completely out of the question for days.

Oh well....it will surely pass eventually. Perhaps I need some Bonaire sun to "cure" me! :-)

Sorry to hear about everyone being sick - not a good way to lose weight.

My cooking class last night was fun but definitely NOT low-cal :-)
We made
*** Parsley Egg Noodles
*** Buffalo Bolognese
*** Roasted asparagus
*** Roasted beet salad w/arugula, goat cheese and hazelnuts
*** Chocolate pots de creme with grand marnier whip cream and strawberries for dessert.
It was all quite yummy and making the pasta from scratch was fun and easy :-) :-)

So far today, I've slept in (no exercise :-() and had a turkey wrap for breakfast :-) :-) Salad and cottage cheese will be for lunch and leftovers for dinner... shouldn't be a bad day
~ except for the exercise ~ no time for that today.

Have a good one everyone and don't forget to drink lots of water!!!!

Hi Everyone! Started officially my diet today and I have been doing nothing but cooking all day for the troops here and for my son and wife. Dessert too, but all the cooking I did was not on my diet, so none of that for me tonight.

Excercise? Well, if I count working in the kitchen and then cleaning up the kitchen and doing the floor as well, I did some! 6 hours worth! Gotta count for something.

Hi everyone, so far so good.....work was not so stressful, but not as much fun as being out with a friend, but then at least I was making money instead of spending it!!

Anyhow...yes, lots of water. Jello...diet jello...sounds like a good idea...I need some "fill ins" for when I'm craving..like now! Carrots just don't cut it. Hubby is munching on three slices of buttered pumpernickel and the smell is getting to me.

Hope the ill among us, feel better soon! My family is fighting the runny nose stuff...illness is all around...ugh!!

Ohhh Donna, I know how good bread/toast can smell. My hubby is fond of a piece of toast before bed. I get to go to bed smelling it and trying not to rush down and gobble a piece. Be strong girl. It's worth it in the end. (Not on the end?)

:-) Joyce...
don't worry, I resisted...I made some sugar free jello for later and had a WW yogurt for now! :-)
My "end" cannot afford any additions!!
