Well, we didn't go. I got a call yesterday afternoon that my colleague and friend who is battling pancreatic cancer had taken a turn for the worse, had several strokes, and hospice had been called in. After much crying during the day, on my way home I called the house and talked to his wife to see if I could stop by and see him. I did. there were a lot of people there so I didn't get to visit with him long, but am going back today when it is quieter hopefully (if he is still here with us)....

Thanks to my secret pal for encouraging me to go see him last night.

C, I'm so sorry. Having spent some time with you, I know how you must be feeling. I told Louise last night that you was going to see Bruce, and she said, "I'll bet Cynde try's to climb on the stage."

We feel your pain Cynde.

I'm sorry, Cynde. I know you love this guy.

Here's the only comforting part of this that I can see...he's at home with people who love him. I think that's what most people would choose to do, but few people get to do. Please combine all my good thoughts with yours when you think of him.

Thanks everyone. Thanks for the hand Tom.

The cancer has spread to his brain, stomach, and lungs. His left side is paralyzied from the strokes, and he is in and out of conciousness. I'm glad I got to see him.

Now some of you know why I have that quote on my profile, and why this is my favorite song...

Cynde, I am so sorry. I am very sorry for your friend. That is a tough nut to swallow for sure. When you remember people and how vibrant they were, it tears your soul out to see them in that state. One thing you did like this will come back to you in good things triplicate. I hope your dear friend does not suffer too much and goes into that good night quietly. Bruce will be around for a while.
