Jerry

Sad to say that I think that Bob has gone to another place. He started digging the pond with some pals that he met at disused railway station, I think they were travelers. Story on Pics.

At first the work went well
and the tree by the house were soon cleared
Bob had a few problems working so close to the house and had the odd accident

Bob was sent to the dog house with the dogs
after a big fight when Bob damaged Paddy's Flamingo
The dogs won
Bosun has not eaten for the last two days and still looks full
 I'll be back

We are back on line after 11 days of little or no broadband. The good service gave us 90Kbps the bad zip. Back to 3000Kbps speeds at last.

Tell you what we had a bad week after Bob arrived so watch out. My laptop died as did our Broadband and reloading hundreds of megs of windows updates was not possible.

He did something about going to the "Smoke" AKA London. But I am sure he was sealed in his box earlier today. Today he left and the ADSL was fixed and my new business laptop is ready for collection tomorrow. This is all true - Hmmmmmmm!!!!

I have a few more pics saved for later.

Brian, I am thinking we may have created a monster... seems to truly wreak havoc everywhere he stays now. I'm sure glad he's already visited me twice and well before his negative powers were so strong!!!
Glad to hear you're almost back up and running.

Hey, Mzfish, what part of South Dakota are you from? I've had some very good times in the Rapid City area....great state and national parks, great museums. Too bad it's so far from the coast, but it's a great area.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By mzfish (BonaireTalker - Post #76) on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 10:21 pm:     Edit PostPrint Post

Yeah, Rapid City, in the south-western part of South Dakota, Black Hills area. You can see Mount Rushmore from my back deck. I've a million dollar view, but we also get the WIND!!

And today is Dog Day!!! I had a day off today, so the dog and I spent the day touring in the Southern Hills, down by Hot Springs. The snow is melting away one more time, the ice is off Angostura Lake and there is greening grass and new-born calves in the fields between Rapid and the Springs.

The dog went swimming, but I'm waiting for the water temps to move up another 20 degrees. Maybe I'll get my little sailboat out on the lake this year.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch; I think I'll head EAST on my next day off and visit Wall Drug and the Badlands. fun-fun

The bison picture is one I took last fall when Mag and I were having a Dog Day at Custer State Park.

Ok say it like you really do...not Rapid City...Rapid.

There used to be the best restaurant there, called the Corn Exchange, I think. I think it's changed hands or names or something. And I had one of the best pizzas I've ever had at Smiley's.

I hear the Bonanza has closed...sad news for this vegetarian.

Custer State park is just a gem. I hiked there for days. What's that peak with the little lookout at the top? And something I climbed had rose quartz veins all through it. I must have had twelve pounds of rocks in my pockets between that and the mica.

Love the HELLO KITTY assault rifle...maybe we can pitch in and get Jerry one for the holidays.

Its an AR-15.

Harney Peak is the destination. There is an old stone fire tower/ranger station at the top. Its a great all-day hike, starting at Sylvan Lake half-way up the Needles Highway.

Rose Quartz is our state mineral. Its abundant and gorgeous out here. At least the mica wasn't heavy.

I usually start collecting rocks until I realize I have to carry them all back to the car. Maybe the dog needs a backpack so SHE can carry the rocks.

The dog toy vet had to cull the flamingo, the mess was it's legs.

Hey Guys no fricken way was I paying for Bob to travel business, I got a great rate for him via Iceland Air and then to Greenland and then to Alaska and then the US - all via turboprop flights (he said he got airsick so I assured him that was far far smoother than jets - Hah)

aint it nice to get revenge!!!!

At least he won't have any puke left when he gets to you, but boy will he be angry!!!

He may need to use your washing machine as well or you could just hose him down in the yard before he comes in.

The building may be fixed but the smell may still be here. Bob's daily diet of Steak, beans threeways, cabbage and sprouts was washed down with organic beer with live hops. I am just gald he had stopped smoking.
