I just bought 8 of these for my Lipstickers Group. We're doing the Big Sur Marathon (10.6 mile walk) in a few weeks and having flip flops at the finish line is a must!!!!
Same goes for all you 3 Day Walkers! Be nice to your feet and they will be nice to you!
Breast Cancer Awareness Flip Flops
Plus my purchase will give 8% of a mammogram :-) :-)
Check it out The Breast Cancer Site

What a great way to support a great cause!!!

Oh these are just for after you're finished.... believe me nothing feels better than taking off those stinky tennis shoes and hot socks and putting on a pair of flaps. Having an inexpensive pair is good so that you don't have to worry about losing them. We put them in our ditty bags (full of our sweats) that we give to the route helpers once we start walking. That way they are waiting for us at the end :-)
They are strictly for drinking the beer and enjoying the soup at the end of the race/walk.

That's to much infomation on a day like this, I'm going to bed just thinking of it. I have to walk across my parking lot to the donut shop, I need a butt. Good night.

Thanks Boom - I just started our training walks this week. We have 20 weeks before the Boston 3Day. I bought a pair of Adidas sandals at Dick's Sporting Goods that I just LOVE but I might have to buck up and get a pair or two or more... I'll send a few to Stephanie as well.

thanks for the heads up - you're always so nice!

OK - so I just ordered mine, and some for Stephanie, and some more from the Hunger Site and some other stuff. I have a SMALL addiction to internet shopping...especially when it benefits a good cause.

OHHHHHH - and the shipping was only $2.95 for my entire order - now THAT'S what I call good shopping!!!

How cool is this. I am walking the DC walk in about 30 days. I was going to order a pair of flips from Avon but they were out of my size. What great timing.
This is my first walk and I am really stoked! Between the walk and training for Dragon boat races I should be in bathing suit shape by the time I make it to Bonaire in July!
Thanks for the link and the info I am on my way there next!

Mara... I have to admit I kind of targeted you :-) Those sites have so much and do so much in return!

Robin... you're in for a life experience. Take your time, talk to everyone, smile, look around, give lots of hugs :-) :-) You just won't be the same afterwards!

Robin - after you do DC you should do one of these walks.

http://08.the3day.org/site/PageServer

There is one in DC in early October. My husband, stepdaughter and I are doing the one in Boston Aug 15-17. I'm really pleased to be able to do this again - and with my family.

My hats off to you for the 3 day walk. I think I need to see how I do on the 40 mile walk before I try for 60! If I do well on that walk then I will think about signing up for the one in October. One walk at a time. Best of luck to you!

It will be a wonderful walk AND for a good cause.
Big Sur is one of my favorite area's.
I recently received an email from a family from Santa Barbara for a home exchange!!
It was very tempting.

Thanks Linda - I will do it. And I have faith that you'll do great in the 40 mile walk Robin. And you with the 1/2 marathon Tara. Robin - think of all the extra time you'll have to train for those few short extra miles - LOL! I'm tempted to do the Atlanta walk as well since that will give me two months in between. My only hard part will be raising the second $2500. LOL!

Oh Bob, if you've never been to Santa Barbara then you must!!! Santa Barbara has something for everyone.
Big Sur is a magical place - this will be our 8th time doing the walk portion of the marathon. We had our planning meeting last night - drew bed mates; decided on who will drive; where to shop! This year we're going to go to Cannery Row, the Aquarium and then the Sardine Factory for dinner on Saturday. On Sunday, we'll get up at 5am to meet the busses and then walk PCH to our hearts content. I just can't wait!!

Bob, please let me know if you decide to take the SB house or if there is anything I can help with. Feel free to email me anytime!

Hi Boom, I've been in the Big Sur area about 4 times and I loved it.
Two years ago we've spend 6 hours in the Aquarium and had a great time.
Three years ago we rode along highway 1 with a motorhome and camped in Big Sur.
However, we agreed with a family to do a home exchange on Bonaire.
Choice was easy :-)

You betcha Mara - I remember the days of trying to raise $1700 (when we walked). I'm just sorry that I don't have a Matching Employer Program :-)

We'll have to do a big BT rally to get you to your goal!

I'm sure everyone will want to flock to the website~ click here to Support Mara as she walks 60 miles to help fight breast cancer!!!!

I'm very proud of you and your family!
