You guys crack me up - as usual! Do any of you have that "favorite" greasy spoon breakfast place? You know, the one that you wake up on Sunday and think "I just have to go there!" Well, we got up today, set off for some skillets at our favorite place and when we got there it was CLOSED!!! Their sign read they are going to be closed for remodeling and will reopen in the fall. I seriously don't know what I am going to do. I don't like any of the other breakfast places around here. :-( :-( :-(

Tribs, do you mean a manly breakfast place. With bacon and hash browns? Not yogurt, fruit and fresh bran muffins?

Disturbing that they are out of circulation until fall. Maybe you can ask around and there is some "hidden" dive that you will like.

Yep! Sundays are big breakfast days. I usually get a skillet with eggs, hashbrowns, peppers, onions, swiss cheese and sausage. I love skillets! I guess they did sell the other stuff too, but if I wasn't getting a skillet I was getting steak and eggs or a huge 3 egg omelet. I am going to really miss that place. We are already looking for another hole-in-the-wall. We suffered through breakfast at IHOP today, but that won't work for too long.

Morning Gang :-)
Tris we have 3 of those here - one closed last fal but he is trying to get opened in a new place soon. Definitely NOT the yogurt, fruit and fresh bran muffin type of place.... these you need to get a good walk in afterwards. Of course we've got that covered here too!!! Okay, enough of my bragging!

I was glad to read that Cyn wasn't out on the water yesterday --- my back hurt just thinking about it.

Jerry, you could be the "Decider"

Was at a store and all beef hotdogs are on sale. " Made with real beef." Is there fake beef that I don't know about?

Who wants a hotdog?

I dunno. Are hooves beef? Is spam real ham? What about Wham!? Is 50/50 beef /pork ground 50% real beef? Semi real beef? I only recently realized that only the front half of the cow is kosher. And the orthodox won't drink the tap water in NYC any more because the teeny crustaceans in it make it non kosher.

On the bright side, it's time to stock up on kosher Coke, made with real sugar for passover!

gonna hit the exercise bike, then it's down to the boat to hang and bbq later (not going out, winds still blowing like mad, but it's sunny:-))

We're baaaaack :-) We took the miss to the bluffs for a walk - need to tucker her out so we can clip her nails. The lady does not like getting a pedicure at all.

It's a beautiful day out but still a bit windy. There's quite a swell coming in too - have fun on Tuffy :-)

Guy LOVES hotdogs! We'll be over at two :-)

I'm thinking about drinking more tap water - free prozac (sp?) and birth control --- sheesh!!!

Time to make breakfast/brunch, then G is making his award winning chili and we've got a tri tip to throw on the bbq for sandwiches throughout the week. Life is good, my friends :-)

Afternoon, kiddos! I slept a while, after my first peek in this AM, then tore up the house files looking for a title for car we sold this week. No dice. Now will tear up the safe at work; it's more than likely there as it should be but Rob made me look here anyway LOL!

Was to give three Yorkies a bath BUT lucky for them I got engrossed in my paper purging project that they lucked out :-) It's windy and cold here today; 40's now. There is ALWAYS tomorrow and I told them that LOL!

Jerry, sounds like a great day with your boy!
Boom, did LOL at you and the water comment although I know the seriousness of it. I just thought to myself, well DAM I knew I wasn't getting pregnant AND also felt on top of the world.....and not depressed LOL! Sheesh is right though!!!

Oh well, I have to tell yall more but somehow the time gets away from me. I'm in my jammies again (been since noon LOL!) but did go out earlier to WallyWorld for some food stuff.

Will peek in again later. Glad everyone had a good day!

We went to the inlaws, and my FIL wouldn't talk to me at all. His name is DICK. So I gave up, didn't play. He had a dream I said something I didn't, and he's so whacked I just can't play anymore. I'm a nice person, but I didn't even say Bye, to him. Larry's mom has a shake disorder almost like Parkinsons, and she loves to talk to me so she can cuss about DICK. lol He's so bad. I wish he wasn't but he is. He won't even let us have Ceasar suddenly, though he hates Ceasar and Ceasar hates him, and Ceasar loves me and Larry and WANTS to be free and talk and all......but Dick says Ceasar is HIS. Well, as Ceasar says, big, long f*rt sound.

I walk into their house and the SMELL hits me like a brick. I think it smells like cockroach poop.

Anyway, we got home, I cooked. We walked, I got a tan. I think I made my final visit to his parent's house. His mom is welcome anytime, his adopted dad...can fall in the lake. He's so vile.

Then Larry and I found this place to do a nature walk, a place he went when he was a teen, to catch crabs.

It was nice, very nice...but I wasn't in hiking mode today after that 5 miles and my legs are still achy breaky. He took a bunch of pics, though. May post some.

I'm sweating. It's hot here, but the water is still coolish.

Cooking that salmon tonight, and some pasta with spinach/cheese and a sun dried tomato/cheese sauce, and a SCRUMPTIOUS salad with everything you ever dreamed of in it. Life is good. But no bread. :-( :-) I can resist!

Especially after sunset. :-)

Fun, fun, fun, then my Daddy took my T-bird away!

Went to lunch/brunch at The Cheese Cake Factory with my DIL in honor of her birthday (this Wednesday) with many of her friends, and her aunt who is here from the UK.... there were 9 of us grown ups! No kids! God Bless John who kept Alex occupied for the 3 1/2 hours that we were gone. She never conceeded to a nap. (Kira stayed with her best buddies the twins next door - Thanks Daddy Ken!). Once we got back here, DIL, Auntie, and the kiddies went home, and we had a splendid day to enjoy! I finished a book I was into, with a glass of wine by the pool. Danielle was painting on the patio, (John of course had earned his undivided World of Warcraft time....). Once I finished my book - Jude Devereau - I grabbed a few trash bags and headed out to the yard with Chaos in tow. We filled one trash can with tall clippings and fronds, and 3 trash bags with leaves and clippings.

I have one very pretty orange day lilly blooming, and still no amarillis blooms..... I finally figured out how the spider lillys got into my garden - not that any one cares! About 3 years ago I did a bulb exchange with a coworker - my bright red amarillas bulbs for her orange day lillies - and a spider lilly bulb must have been in that batch! And I've separated the spider lilly bulbs and shared them with others.....! Fun! :-)

So Fun, fun, fun, then my Daddy took my T-bird away!

(But I'm into a new book series....! :-)

Jerry - don't you have some cooking to do?!!!!

(Like at MY house?!) While I was sitting by the pool reading, I smelled someone's grill going - Asian I think - terriaki? maybe. We have Koreans behind us - it smelled so good. I did a great terriaki stir fry last night - pork, onion, red pepper, green pepper, fresh green beans, bean sprouts, with plain ole white rice. It was delish!

So I came in and opened a can of soup..... :-( After Cheese Factory for lunch, it's "everyone fend for yourself night" tonight here.....

and yes - we brought John home food for baby sitting - so he can fend for himself too!

Tribs - when we bought this set for the family room, we had Dagny, who was what they call a 'red gold' Golden Retriever. She was the color of a Irish Setter - but truely a heart of gold. We lost her over night, tragically, to what we believe was canine bloat. But when we still had her, and were were shopping for a new family room set, the sales people always asked - what are you looking for - and we always replied - something to match our dog!

So Chaos is still always welcome to be a family member and enjoy the comforts of the couch - and yes - we have lots of Frebreeze! That's just the way We live. (Not for all, I'm sure.) Chaos is still crated overnight, but that's due to his age - and chewing! - but givin' another year he'll be sleeping at - or on - our feet - That's just the way We live. (Not for all, I'm sure.)

I'm so sorry about Dagny, but have to say that you are my kind of people! We have joked about getting a king sized bed because we share it with 6 cats. We figure that the size wouldn't matter and they would still sleep on top of us or smooshed up next to us. LOL! Our frontroom only has one piece of human furniture (a loveseat) because we have two HUGE cages for our parrots - they have to be in the living room with us. We also have a cat house in front of the living room window. They need a view too. LOL! Have a great night!

Here's my latest of Chaos a few minutes ago! He reminds me of the bird we call here the 'snake bird' or something like the cormordont - help me out Kathy H! We see just the head above water while it swims, like a snake, but when it perches in a tree and fold out it's feathers to dry, it looks like Chaos on our couch!

chaos drying out!

Chaos was 2 in January - and he's starting to show the bright boy he will become. Dagny was 3 before she was no longer crated, and KayKay has VERY big paws to follow. I could write a book. He's starting to show his own sense of humor.... when we're both on the computers he'll bring a sock, or one of the grandkids toys in his mouth - but not chewed - just to say - Hey guys - You're ignoring me and I could chew this up.... and he's so right!

I forsee the future - not so far off - that'll be John and I pushing not only each others legs off overnight, but a doggies legs too!

we are like you, all four dogs sleep on the bed. Tribs, we bought a king for more room, but your right, they still sleep squished next to me...lol...when we have a house sitter, they have to sleep on the bed with the dogs, it's a requirement...if they won't, they dont' house sit!
