This is so strange. I fell asleep watching TV last night. Louise went to bed, Caymus went with her. I had a dream that Caymus was at the beach and could not see me or hear me. he was kind of lost???
Well all of a sudden, Caymus starts to howl, he was dreaming, Louise wakes him up, and I jumped off the couch thinking is this a dream or what?

Jerry...that would keep me up too...really really weird...I do believe you and Caymus have telepathic thoughts?

I had a dream, wasn't nearly as interesting. Steve Carell in a womans dress with beading. He was going to the Oscars. Had his hair in a pretty bun too.

Jerry, here is my online dream interpretation site:
http://dreamhawk.com/d-dic.htm

It's Jungian/Freudian, so I have trusted the book and website for years. :-)

I also had a strange dream - very vivid in colors, that I was taking a trip on a plane, and at the same time moving out of my house, so it was tedious...but things got strange, like the plane didn't have a roof but had a pool and bedrooms instead. lol When I got off the plane after the trip, I had to walk with a group, and I turned into a Tampa mall. Became TOO strange then and I woke up.

I only have strange dreams, so I try to forget them asap, because they're just to be weird to be told, let alone, explained. When my wife makes soup, afterwards she dreams about making soup; when I make soup, I dream about flying free (no wings) to my favorite dream city (I've been going there for as long as I can remember, but it's no place on this earth), I stroll the wonderful neighbourhoods and the next moment I'm off to my dreamt up part of Italy/Greece/South America and enjoy the quietness, culture, food and sunshine; next I could be creating wonderful music or beautiful new flowers, feeling my favorite desert wind through my hair, meeting people long gone or forgotten or a combination of them, finding new fights and lost loves, etc. etc., and having no pain - which is great. Generally it's a very good place to be, so it's a pity I sleep so little.
It's different when I have a nightmare, which is seldom, luckily. Those are unfortunately usually the dreams that tend to come true (I dreamt I was in the cockpit of a plane that crashed into large building twice; the first time was the night before an ELAL Cargojet crashed into a block of flats here in Amsterdam, the second time was the night before 9/11. Don't ask.) I also remember a half year in my life about 20 years ago when I couldn't tell if I was awake or dreaming; regularly I had to ask my wife if I was or not, but that's not very helpful, is it? - after all, she could be saying I'm not dreaming in my dream. I remembered doing things I still had to do, knew how half of the conversations I was having would go, etc. In that time we went on holiday to Sardinia for the first time, came to a little village, and before we entered it, I told my wife all about the lay-out of the place, where the square was with the trees and the bakery, and more details. It was all completely as I told her. We didn't linger, drove on. That was just too weird. Longer bouts of déjà vu, you could say, which is an inconvenience, to say the least, for someone who doesn't believe in stuff like that, clearvoyance, fortune telling, star signs, gods - non credo is my principle. And no, I was NOT on meds!
I'm I really typing this?

OK .. here is a 'strange dream', dreams actually. This past summer; I dreamt that I was flying down over the street along the water, flying south (not in a plane!), on Bonaire and I was calling down and ask locals where Luty was. Luty is our good friend, a dm on Bonaire. And people were elusive and stand offish to my quesioning. They seemed protective of Luty and not trusting of me.

Then just a few weeks later I learned of my cancer. Then I was in the the hospital after fairly serious surgery. As I was recuperating in the hospital, very scared awaiting the results of the surgery, I dreamt again that I was flying in the same way but I was so filled with joy. I was laughing and smiling and swooping up and down. Again I was asking where I could find Luty. The locals smiled and laughed and pointing said look it's snorkel girl. And I laughed and said, no I am a diver, I love being a diver (no offense intended to snorkelers) and they lead me to where I could find Luty. It was so strange because I was so filled with joy. The next night the doctor came into the hospital and told me I could go home in the AM and that the surgery was a complete success - the best possible outcome.

Before the surgery Teddy and I had said we would fight my disease no matter what it took. And that we would celebrate success by a trip to Bonaire with in a year. Although I was very worried about the outcome of the surgery, and scared, the second dream was like I knew inside that I was all right.

We will be on Bonaire for two weeks this summer.

Ha! How's that for sharing?

Yay, Denise! I wish you many more happy dreams!

I often dream that I'm trying to pack up a household of mentally handicapped adults to move a new house. As soon as I get a box packed, they open it to see what's inside. And so it goes. All night long.

What does THAT mean???

house moving ---> move to Bonaire
house full of mentally handicapped ---> BT

You want to move to Bonaire, but the idea of living on an island inhabited by BT-ers keeps you from doing it...

Goodnight.

Very weird stuff here...
Looked up that dream website...very freudian.
Jerry I tend to think while you were sleeping you heard Caymus and that made you have that dream.
(At the same time?)
I have dreams that if I look up at planes they fall...those are the "bad" dreams.
I like to ask people if they "fly" in their dreams as alot of people don't.
Steve never did until last year on Bonaire...I tend to think it was the Chiauauia (sp)tequilla!
Anyone have sleep paralysis?

I fly. But mostly, only in emergency situations. I go back to HS gymnastics, and can take off from there, a back handspring then a back arial, and I'm up but have to kick and heave ho, then it's like swimming till I'm way up, then I can soar.

If a dream ever gets too freaky, I fly away. Though, I have a hard time avoiding power lines and schtuff and it's hard to land most times. :-) I need to learn to waterski in like ducks do. :-)

Sleep paralysis, I USED to dream (when I was married to my ex), that my wrists were being wrapped around by snakes. I sleep with my hands over my head, flat on my back. THAT would paralyze me, esp waking up beside him.

Yes to sleep paralysis! I sleep in the same manner as you Kathy, arms above my head flat on my back.
I had a bizarre dream a few nights ago about a friend that I hadn't heard from in a few months and then they called me the very next day. I dreamt I was living in my parents house with my parents (who have been gone for more than 10 years) I was the age I am now but they were young. And I was hiding this friend in my room under my bed bringing them food, water etc. My room was exactly the way it was when I was in high school. It frightened me a bit to say the least! I don't believe I ever had a dream where I was flying but I have had many dreams of living under water without breathing apparatus!

Yes to flying without a plane! Ever since I was a kid I dream very regularly that I stand up straight, concentrate really hard, slowly lift up straight into the air and then fly over people, buildings, cities, landscapes. It's a great feeling, but I know I have to keep concentrating or I'll fall, and sometimes it doesn't work - very frustrating. Nobody else in my dream is able to fly, and I'm very proud that I am - secretly, in my dream...

Cool thread. I dream a lot...I fly a lot in my dreams (without a plane)...isn't it the best feeling? Alex, I'm the only one in my dream that can fly too, and sometimes I have to really work to stay up! lol!

Denise...wow...what a dream and an experience...

I used to have a dream, for years, since I was a child. It was about going up a staircase in my grandmothers house (in my grandmothers house it wasn't the same staircase). And I would go to the top and hide on one of the secret "rooms." the dream always bothered me as it wasn't really my grandmothers staircase....

Then, a few years ago, I went to Charleston SC for a wedding. I took a walking tour. We went into the Pink House, it was an bar back before the Civil War days. then when the war broke out, military folks would come and drink there...and the family that lived there would run up the stairs and hide in the upstairs portion.

As the lady opend the door to the stair case, and I stepped in...it was my DREAM STAIRCASE...I had the most unbelievable rush of emotion. I had to stop in my tracks halfway up the staircase...I can't express the emotion, feelings, of what I felt. This was THE staircase in my dreams.

As I walked around Charleston, I kept having weird experiences like I'd been there before, I knew the town.

After visiting, and actually seeing my dream staricase, I haven't had the dream.

How's that for sharing?

You all should perform a search on lucid dreaming, there are accepted ways to tell if you are dreaming or not, Alex, they are called reality checks, you do them all the time, so when you do them and you are dreaming then you know. One is looking at your hands. In fact they make devices to assist people to dream lucidly. Apparently, once you know it's a dream, you can take control of it and do what you like.

Shades of Carlos Castenada!

Denise...exactly! It was a dream I had frequently since a child....and since I was at the pink house, haven't had it since. The Pink House is an artists gallery now, and I bought a painting of it, it hangs on my dining room wall.

Maybe I was someone living there during the Civil War in a past life? I am related to Robert E. Lee...things that make you go hmmmmmmm.....

Cynde, thanks for sharing, what a coincidence you fly like I do, and what a wonderful experience. Maybe you should go there again, see if you can get your dream back. Otherwise just buy the house and go live there.

Wow, very cool experience Cyn!

I don't have any like that, but lots of going upstairs, finding rooms I didn't know about. And I don't just fly to escape (though I do that good, lol), alot of times I'll be in a dream, in a room with other people, like a party, and I float up. There are usually others who can float, but not fly.

I also can breathe u/w like Denise. lol

The reason I got interested in dream interpretation...was that I had this dream my living room was flooded for some reason, and I looked down and saw a fish kind of gasping for air. I reached down and picked it up, and it slid out of my hands back into the water.....and well, let's just say it was a wet dream. :D Couldn't figure THAT one out, so I spent an hour or so in Barnes and Nobles and found "just" the right book.

My stepkids will even still email me to look up their dreams. Sometimes, I don't want to tell them what they mean!

Okay, now I am having all kinds of freaky dreams! Last night Ravi had to wake me up because I was writhing and looking like I was screaming but no sounds were coming out (not in a good way either) and when he woke me I had been dreaming there were all kinds of people dressed in costumes swimming in my pool and I was trying to tell them to get out and I couldn't make a sound!

Another ... when I was young I used to dream that I was standing at the top of our staircase and I would jump and fly. One night I woke up sitting on the couch and my father was at my feet cgecking out my ankle. I said what are you doing and he told me I was saying my ankle hurt. I had actually jumped from the top of the stairs in my sleep. A few nights later my mother caught me in the middle of the night pushing off on my bike saying I'm going to the park - yup sleep walking again. After that they put a gate at the top of the stairs. Didn't stop me though.

Ok...so I usually have very odd dreams about things I am stressing over. I had one last night. I dreamt that I got to Bonaire in May and the house key was missing so I couldn't get in. I don't own a cell phone so I went to find some people I know on island. Tish wasn't home but her cat let me pet her, Susan and Lisa just looked at me through their window and told me to go away, I drove all over the place trying to find Jane's new house and couldn't find it. I ended up sleeping in my truck in the Chat-n-Browse parking lot. I woke up at about sunrise in my dream.

Oh please let this not be an indicator of my upcoming trip. I hate being by myself. I guess I am just very social.

I also had a nightmare about our lawn the other day. The bone head who plows the parking area across the street from us decided to plow the snow across the street into our yard - AND ALL OF THE ROCKS!!!! In my dream I was at the county court house trying to get the judge to tell the owners they had to clear the rocks from my yard and fix the lawn. The judge said...buy a rake and do it yourself! I woke up. :-(
