Today is the big day - I get out of the house and see what the doctor has to say - we're at the three-week post-op. I'm feeling good, just tire easily. The scars looks like mosquito bites now. Modern medicine is a pretty amazing!

weather

HOT HOT HOT here and the rain keeps missing us - even when we get the thunder and lightning. No fair. Had to start using the soaker hoses on the gardens this week.

Hey Rusty - Next stop -dancing!!-

Meryl - No walking in the woods today for me. Does driving around town from meeting to meeting count? Groan!

Janeece - the renamed! - sorry to hear you are under the weather. First bout of winter flu?

Looks like we are in for a "tropical" summer here. Rains every few days and temps are in the high 80's up to 100F the other day and HUMID!

Makes for nice green deck wood!

Have a good day.

Cheers,

Bill

dance It's great to see you all, been too long since we popped in together! I'm thinking of taking a dunk in the goldfish pond - but I think I'll wait for the thunderstorms we're supposed to get this afternoon and then try "singing in the rain". We got about fourteen raindrops yesterday before the storm passed us by. Whoop-di-doo! LOL

Grass Frost? That's a funny one. :) We're more like Limp Garden Alert going on here. The plants that like wet feet are on strike!

garden

We're just coming into the Oriental Lilies and the Daylilies are opening their first blossoms. The roses are going nuts - must be good rose weather, I guess. Looks like the Purple Coneflowers and Bee Balm will pop sometime this week...

Greetings Bob.

Do you happen to have an idea on what happened to the Bahamas reef cam(s)? They used to be able to be accessed through Africam - no longer.

Clownfish.

I found a news report that explains that they went through a financal reorganization of some sort and what their current plans are. The whole web site had been down for a while. I don't know if the Bahamas cam will come back on-line or not.

hi gang, just poppin' in for a quick look. Rusty, glad you are back and hopefully runnin' soon:-)...I am so excited...I get to go plant kelp tomorrow with the kelp reforestation project. We are done with all of the species research for the research site, and the kelp tiles are ready to be attached to the reef! So I get to be part of the "milestone dive," that the Marine Biologist, head of the project has been waiting for:) I am taking my camera, so hopefully will get some snapshots of the project this time!

I decided to adjourn to the computer room here - only one with AC - and not a moment too soon. Pretty hot and humid out with no sign of the Tstorms yet.

My doc said that I am up and running (well, walking) at the three-week mark! Don't have to check back in with him for three months. I hit the jackpot with these two surgeons, I guess. He told me to listen to my body (Ha! It keeps saying, "Sit down, grab a book!") and use my common sense for another week or two.

Brian, fish

I've been following the Africam saga and they are still running low on funds. They are adding a cam at a time as expenses allow and the next cam to make an appearance (by popular demand) is the Polar Bear cam. (This was an incredible experience two years ago - 24 hour coverage and SO MANY cubs on cam!) The scuttlebutt is that the Caribbean Marine Research Center's cams will be among the next venues restored.

smile Martin! Thank you! That's a keeper - I have a Martin file where I stash all your goodies!

hosp

My "big scary" hospital experience turned out to be 100% positive. The nurses and doctors treated me nice, the food was good, the pain was non-existent and my recovery is right on schedule.

That's one way to cure a phobic! Don't give them anything to complain about. LOL

Sarah - have a splash or two for me!

dive

Cynde - loved your pix - especially those little CA *BITER-FISHES*.

Thanks Linda.
That was certainly informative. Do you happen to know of any other underwater cams that are currently on line? Also, how's your painting coming along. Any chance you will have them posted where those interested can have a peek?
Brian.

How about a big sunset to welcome Rusty back. The weather has been oppressive in NE although the thunderstorms are a-comen, I can hear them building strength.

Sunset

I sure do need to get wet, I only did a mud dive last weekend and it did not fill the need. Hopefully salt water this weekend. I hate Sarah, Martin and Cynde for their plans, Sarah probably the most.
