Morning all....gonna make this quick...very exausted this evening we lost our parrot for two days in 99 degree temperatures here....I have been pounding the payment for two days non stop and finally found her thanks to a wonderful couple who notified the police....she is safe and sound at home I am please to report...but I am in need of some long R and R! Will check in in early afternoon.....missed you....I feel guilty now that I complain about the tourists....and they were the ones who made finding her happen....ah the wonders of life! Have a great morning and will catch ya later all!

Glad you got your parrot back. We had a parrot flying around the house last year, but it would not come to us, acted like it would and then flew off. I was so worried about it.

Hi all morning! Just getting up...moving slow! Legs ache from all the walking...out of shape or what! Renee...she is an African Grey...looks like a pigeon with a red tail...which made it harder to find her since I feed the pigeons here....but she's back and singing and talking up a storm...

Hi everyone, Didn't mention this before, but I used to have a little Senegal parrot (Jasper). I took him off someone who couldn't be bothered with him anymore. He was a good friend to us all. Don't know how old he was, as he was adult when I got him. He finally had 3 strokes later in his life. The third one killed him, and I still shed a tear in his memory. Annie b.

I have 100+ parrots, mostly three different kinds, vitreous, lilac crowned, and yellow-headed amazons that look amazing like the Bonaire variety. And I don't have to clean any cages since they are all feral. They roost in palm trees in my neighborhood. They love my camphor tree when its seeds are still green and my neighbors' eucalpytus trees. The vitreous are noisy clowns and aren't afraid of anything. The lilac crowned will sit in the trees and kind of murmer to each other. I was working on my roof one day and heard something near my head and about a dozen of the lilac crowned were perched 5-6 feet away and were quietly watching and discussing me.

Linnea...very envious...if we ever sell this house my dream (and Steve would make me stress the word MINE) is to have a sanctuary for unwanted parrots....maybe one day.....my daughters do not want any part of them in any will we make up!) They are only 8yrs old and they live to be about 60.......the birds not the kids...

I have 2 cockatoos - a sulpher and an umbrella. They're wonderful but extremely obnoxious

Note: After the first time my mother went to Bonaire with me and spent days trying to find some parrots on Bonaire, we come home and the next morning my tree is full of the vitreous parrots making a racket and generally being clowns. She said "I flew all that way, drove all over the island and never saw a parrot, then I come back here and you have dozens in your tree".

Linneah, you lucky lady! That must be so wonderful to see and hear the lovely creatures of the wild in your own trees at home! I'm envious!
