Well my scale reflected another pound loss today. I hope everyone else is having good news.

I began my day with an orange, 2 slices of light bread w/an egg fried in cooking spray...4pts and VERY satisfying!! Black coffee as always.

I can't tell by my clothes yet that I've lost 7lbs, but then I know that the inches often follow the pounds, so I'll be patient. (well, I'll try at least!)

Good morning Fat fighters :-)

well the Hotel didn't have any fitness equipment so I had another day off, but got back on the crosstrainer last night when I got home, I was going to punish myself with a 90 minute session, but as it was after midnight again I was too tired and only managed 60mins. I will try for a longer session tonight, my Son is doing 2 hrs everyday, but then he has the advantage of a 20 year old body!!! :-)

Weigh in is next Saturday!!! I will be happy if I'm under 100Kgs again :-)

Hi Roy.. that's what I need to boost my results and firm my flab. I keep saying that, but I haven't done it yet. One step at a time, at least I'm eating healthy again, right!?

Hip Hip Horray for Donna, Roy and others fighting the fight :-)

Donna, awesome in the loss dept.!

Roy, you are THE man in cross training.

I have to unfold my ProForm treadmill. I think it still folds down?! LOL Will do that today.
I feel much better today; no sugar for a while and I know that is what makes me sick!!! Hypoglycemia stinks but I will cope and feel better for it.

Eggs for b'fast here and getting ready to make toast. Yorkies shared my eggs :-)

Awesome Eileen and Kobi!!! I need a treadmill. I have to look into that. It's worth the investment

Kobi, are you doing WW now instead of medifast? I can PM you with more details if you are doing WW. You can also join on-line but it's kinda expensive...I'm cheaper (that sounds bad! LOL)

Certainly Donna, there's lots of different ways to lose the pounds, and we each have to find the best one for ourselves.

Well Basically there are two ways:-

1. Eat less/more healthy and just carry on life as before

less Cals in but still burning at the same rate = weight loss

2. Exercise more

same Cals in but Burning them at higher rate = Weight loss

quite simple really :-):-) just not that easy !!! :-):-)

Eileen, good girl!!! You're kicking tail up there!!! Keep up the good work :-)

Donna, I am mixing the two programs :-) No you're not cheap you are resourceful! I hate one of their WW dinners for din din last night; 5 pts.

Not sure what I'm doing; MediWatchers? LOL!
I joined WW probably 5 years ago and have my little thick binder with lots of info in it so can snoop through it again to help with ideas for cooking/eating.

Oh...ok Kobi, I didn't realize you had the WW materials, so you know how to do it.

Yeah some of their meals are good and some are not so good. I have a few favorites, but haven't eaten them in a while. I use them mostly for lunch and try to stick to really low points for that so I have room for other stuff.

Healthy Choice meals often are good and list WW points on them. And have you seen that Progresso also has WW zero point soups now, also (not that you need more soup in your life!)

I had a salad last nite when we went out. But then I had wine too. It was good tho!:-)
OK, I just weighed myself...I'm 7 lbs. less than I was 2 weeks ago when I scared the scale!! This is good. Now, if I keep that in mind all day, maybe I'll behave and eat better today, and that will make me feel better today... This is my goal for the day:-)

Great job everyone!

I have been eating less, and lots of fruit and veggies. Water, tea etc. Next week I will get the OK to excercise again.

Those WW frozen meals are just the right portions. I often, though, find myself being anal over carbs so sometimes I can't make myself eat those.

I have seen the new soups; hmmm I think I have like 200 servings of soup in the pantry from MediFast...what's a little more! LOL

Hey PegiSue....we are right in line with each other weightloss-wise and timing, too! Let's keep the momentum going!! Hooray for us!!

Kobi, I like the soups...some flavors better than others. I need protein, though, so usually try to have a piece of cheese or chicken when I have them for lunch. I was thinking the opposite of MediWatchers is WeightFast!! Not sure that sounds like a diet unless it's Weight"loss"Fast and that would be good!! :-)

LOL....I thought it sounded funny too; Weightfast LOL! OH well, we're all doing what we can and what works for us; I pray the momentum continues here in VA! Whether it's my soups or WW. There meals are very good too :-) I'm all about easy breezy meal making too!

I'm eating a salad right now, with little shrimp in it. It's very good!!
I think I had lost more last week, then probably gained some back this week. But I've done good for 2 days now. I must be, because I'm awfully hungry!

Hello. Checking in quickly. Have lots of little projects around the house to do today and am in a little bit of a panic about them. I'm down about 3 lbs. Went to dinner at a place in DC called "Vegetate" last night with some vegan friends. It was good being able to eat anything on the menu. I'll check in later.

I haven't been able to post here as much as I wanted to, but weighed in today and down 5 pounds from a few weeks ago. Still got a lot to go. Trying for 20 more in a very short time too. I have no patience for long dieting, I just want to lose the weight, then maintain, I know how to maintain, stop eating after dinner! Easy, now if I can just remember to do that. Got to lose the weight first.

I found one that I did some time ago, it was fast and easy to make. When chopping, keep the knife wet with veg oil, keeps things from sticking.

Pork with Cider Pan Sauce
k
Open wine
1 10-ounce box couscous
3/4 cup chopped, pitted prunes (I used fresh figs)
2 cups apple cider
1/2 teaspoon cider vinegar
4 sprigs fresh thyme
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil (sorry)
4 1- to 1 1/4-inch-thick boneless pork loin chops
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced

Heat oven to 400° F.

Take a sip of wine.

Cook the couscous according to the package directions.
Take another sip.

In a small saucepan, bring the prunes, cider, vinegar, and thyme to a boil. Lower heat to medium-low and simmer until reduced by half, about 8 minutes. Sip time.

Meanwhile, heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the pork with the salt and pepper. Sear the pork, turning once, until browned but not cooked through, about 1 minute per side. Transfer to an oven-safe baking dish, place in oven, and roast until no trace of pink remains, about 10 minutes. Now you need a big sip.

Return skillet to medium-low heat, add the onion, and cook until softened, about 6 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 2 minutes more. Add the cider mixture and simmer for 2 minutes more. Spoon the pan sauce over the pork and serve with the couscous. Poor a big glass of wine and enjoy.

Thanks for the site, Jerry!
Prayers for safe flights for u and the Mrs.

Donna, LOVE venison. It's what we feed the doggers sometimes; that or Bison :-) Very lean meat.
Good luck; sounds like you're planning a yummy dinner.

Roy.....my kinda man :-) Whisky!!!

90 mins!?! Holy poo...that's an hour and a 1/2 you know?!? LOL OK, I really stink compared to you guys :-( No activity here except an hour raking leaves. I think I felt my heart beating faster than normal; that should count for some exertion.

Hope you enjoyed the carrots AND the videocam time with friends; that's cool.

Nice recipe, from Jerry. I wonder how that would work with substituting dried apples..... I have have to try it.

(Shhhh! I think Kobi feeds her dogs better than I feed my family!)

Oh - and why "sorry" on the extra-virgin olive oil.... All I use is EVOO.... I thought that was good..... although very expensive..... Since Jerry has packed up and moved out, any guesses?

Gail :-) My dogs really do eat better than Rob and I do. I cook, fresh, for them every other day. This in addition to them eating holistic kibble; Bison and vegan based :-) I do this to curb any and all pancreatic attacks from our oldest gal; Bits. Thankfully they both thrive on their diet. They are rotten and I am whipped LOL.

My guess is the "sorry" was for the fat content in EVOO? That's how I took it anyway.
