Being Tuesday, and pre-HUMP DAY, we should all hold hands and just HUMMMMMMMM!

Fall is in the air, gets dark at 6:00PM. How depressing is that?

Time to pack, have a fun day everyone, I'll pop in later.

J.

I'm going to have fun today. Going shopping with a transexual client for hair extensions and beauty products (she's a cosmetician) at Sally's Beauty Supply. lol Maybe I'll get some for myself! :-) We shopped for clothes Friday and that was a HOOT! She wanted things too low cut and tight, and I had to get her to understand that not everybody needs to see those b**bs all the time!

Oh I soooooooo agree. I used to show more cleavage than I do now. Now I'm much more self conscious about it - how weird is that.

I'm up to my eyeballs in work stuff but it was really sweet because the group of people that report to me got me a card and two pumpkin lanterns for Bosses Day - now that is just too sweet. And once again, I forgot it for my Boss. oh well - such is life.

Enjoy the day and shop away Kathy - shop away.

Jerry, just hide under the desk with the can and have the work force pack! I agree, it's getting dark early and light late...hard to get up in the morning now! It's around 60F, and Michael wants to turn on the heater, but I'm still running the AC!

Kathy, have fun shopping:-) lol!

Mara, I didn't even know it was bosses day somewhere...lol...neither did anyone in our office though so I don't feel bad. Hang in thereg with work.

Bon Noche all.

Some hints for Halloween.

Please be safe and enjoy...

With Halloween upon us, it is worthwhile to remember a few simple rules to help keep this season healthy, happy and SAFE!!

Please use these helpful hints this and every year.

1. When it appears that you have killed the monster, NEVER check to see if it is really dead.

2. Never read a book of demon summoning aloud, even as a joke.

3. Do not search the basement, especially if the power has gone out.

4. If your children speak to you in Latin or any other language which they should not know, shoot them immediately. It will save you a lot of grief in the long run. However, it will probably take several rounds to kill them, so be prepared. This also applies to kids who speak with somebody else's voice.

5. When you have the benefit of numbers, NEVER pair off and go alone.

6. As a general rule, don't solve puzzles that open portals to Hell.

7. Never stand in, on, or above a grave, tomb, or crypt. This would apply to any other house of the dead as well.

8. If you're searching for something which caused a loud noise and find out that it's just the cat, GET THE HELL OUT!

9. If appliances start operating by themselves, do not check for short circuits; just GET OUT.

10. Do not take ANYTHING from the dead.

11. If you find a town which looks deserted, there's probably a good reason for it. Don't stop and look around.

12. Don't fool with recombinant DNA technology unless you're sure you know what you're doing.

13. Dress appropriately. When investigating a noise downstairs in an old house, women should not wear a flimsy negligee. And carry a flashlight, not a candle.

14. If your companions suddenly begin to exhibit uncharacteristic behavior such as hissing, fascination for blood, glowing eyes, increasing hairiness, and so on, kill them immediately.

15. If you're running from the monster, expect to trip or fall down at least twice, more if you are female. Also note that, despite the fact that you are running and the monster is merely shambling along, it's still moving fast enough to catch up with you.

16. Stay away from certain geographical locations, some of which are listed here: Amityville, Elm Street , Transylvania, Nilbog (you're in trouble if you recognize this one), anywhere in Texas where chainsaws are sold, the Bermuda Triangle, or any small town in Maine .

17. If your car runs out of gas at night on a lonely road, do not go to the nearby deserted-looking house to phone for help. If you think that it is strange you ran out of gas because you thought you had most of a tank, shoot yourself instead. You are going to die anyway, and most likely be eaten.

18. Beware of strangers bearing tools. For example: chainsaws, staple guns, hedge trimmers, electric carving knives, combines, lawnmowers, butane torches, soldering irons, band saws, or any devices made from deceased companions.

19. If you find that your house is built upon a cemetery, now is the time to move in with the in- laws. This also applies to houses that had previous inhabitants who went mad or committed suicide or died in some horrible fashion, or had inhabitants who performed satanic practices.

20. Do not mention the names of demons around open flames, as these can flare suddenly. Be especially careful of fireplaces in this regard.

21. Do not go looking for witches in the Maryland countryside.

Cecil - thank you so much for those hints. They are very timely! Tonight my dear friend and house/pet sitter is coming over to watch scary movies and have a sleepover. I'm going to email these to her immediately so that we can both be prepared! LOL!!! I made dinner (finally that pork loin with apples and onions and cinnamon/mace/cumin/allspice - the house smells so Fall-ish!), she's bringing the movie but we're both such whimps it will probably be something from Disney :-) :-)

Nobody gave me anything for bosses day (maybe I need to show more cleavage).... course I didn't get anything for the boss either :-) :-) I could really end up in a straight jacket on days like these.

Jerry, call your customers who still owe you $$ - let them work it off :-)

Cynde, was Michael in agreement about the hotel? It's going to be fun, fun, fun!!

My automatic updates have sent my computer kaplooey.... hopefully I will 'see' ya'll before the end of the day. If not, play well, be nice, think of me often :-) :-) HaHaHa!!

That's it for me. Cynde, you're on your own, sorry! There is always Frank and beans. (something about Mary)

Have a fun evening gang.
Chicken (A) it is. God, I dislike chicken, the girl has been cooking the same meals for years. Don't get me wrong, I love this lady, but, chicken!!! I'm not a food snob, I just don't like chicken. For my taste, I would rather eat lard.
Caymus loves chicken, so does Nicky, that's because when Louise looks away I feed them!
She always asks me if I want more, I just say." no sweetheart, I'm stuffed." Chicken, a starch (rice) and a veg. It's hospital food! She try's very hard, so I just go with the flow. Diner is a big deal at my house, we cook, chat, and spend the evening together, but not chicken night, I always find a reason to eat fast then escape.

Did I mention that I don't care for white meat or chicken?

I don't pay for chicken, so no check needed.

I guess Jerry wouldn't like rattle snake either, because it tastes like...

Everyone seems like they are in fairly chipper moods today. I like it that way.

Hi Kiwi - I'll be chipper in about an hour and a half..... POP!!! goes the wine cork!

I'm just leaving that poor dead mouse with it's head smooshed in the trap... Guy can get him tomorrow. I know, that's really girly of me but I just can't do it, especially not after his buddy came running across the stockroom.... IIIIEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Think I'll try listening to the CarTalk guys (I download their shows on the internet) --- if they can't get my mind off the meeeces then it's time to go home.

Ewwww miceies :-( It's getting that time of year around here. We pay for a miceie man (is that a real job?) to bait traps at our business. Thankfully it works and none of those vermin have been seen for years :-)

Boom....forgive me for not saying HI to Rasta. My girls & I send her kisses all the way from VA :-)

OMG, if their laughter doesn't make you smile or guffaw it's definitely time to pull the plug :-) I can only get NPR to come in on my car, so I used to go and drive around on Saturdays just to listen. Thank God for the internet and iTunes :-)

I also download Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me, Driveway Moments, Fresh Air and This I Know
really great to have on hand :-) :-)

Well, Kiwi, you popped in late:0

Meece...we have had our own meece problems lately...had a "family" living in the closet, thought we got them (tiny tiny meece and two bigger meece)...then they moved to the pantry. We have these traps that don't kill them, you put food in it and then when they go inside to get the food, the trap door SLAMS SHUT and they are stuck. i still scream though when Michael let's them go on the back hill. Sometimes they jump out of the trap...EEK!

You are right Kobi --- laughter is key :-)

Kiwi, that's what I get for doing the list by memory.... it's This I Believe (slight correction) and YES American Life.

I had to laugh at the Driveway Moments because when Guy and I were dating, my roommates teased the heck out of me because we used to spend hours sitting in the car in the driveway while chatting and listening to the end of some program or the other.... we still do that now :-)

NPR is just an amazing resource -- good for you for helping... let me get my checkbook :-)

Kiwi, I was convinced that they were sneaking back in the house as soon as we let them go, but we haven't had one in about 5 days, so I'll keep my fingers crossed. The dogs are no good with them, they just sniff around like "hey, i think there are meece somewhere"...lol!

OMG. I'm in tears most mornings on the 9 mile ride to work; just radio comedy in the morning. Redneck but SOO funny. They're on in Evansville, IN.
They have a segment called "married man". He drives around in a mini van; he's basically whipped :-) It's just a hoot and good for the soul.

Mice? Did someone say Mice?? We had a few visitors the past few days passing through, but I freak out when they get in the house. Yeah, you can set traps and get Momma and Popa mouse, but their kids still come back to haunt ya that were left behind. So, I had hubby set a zillion traps before they decide to set up house. :-) Hope that works as it just started getting cooler out and this is the time when they all scramble looking for new digs. Oh and those little mouses are so tiny and light, a trap won't get them and they don't even stick to glue strips, but my JR sure did and boy that was a mess, I had to cut her fur a little bit to get it off her, didn't want to hurt her pulling it off, worse than a wax job for a doggie.

Hey, Boom! Did I miss something about the Belly Up Bar? Sounds interesting....

Oye....I have two great terrier hunters; if there are miceies in the vicinity they're on it! These two....GIRLS killed them a blind mole a few weeks ago. He made the mistake of popping his head out of the lovely hole he made in the yard and BAP.....Bits grabbed it and did her flying mole trick then Bini decided to see how far she could throw it and then the rolling started. WHY oh WHY on God's green earth do they have to roll on something?!?! Mole's, bird POOP, rabbit pellets?!?!?! OYE........

I'm a little scared to go to the Belly Up again I have to admit, last time i was there, I was 21, and fell out of my girlfriends car as we got on the freeway...wasn't really too "lit" either...leaned against the door to talk to her and it wasn't shut...and roll I went down the iceplant. Had to have my ankle reconstructed...
