Last evening the boys and staff at Maria Hoppener dined on KFC thanks to some kind BTers and KFC management. This Friday the party will conclude on the beach with a Chocolate cake and b day presents for one of the youngsters at the home. I have asked for the b dates of all the children so that we can make this a regular happening for them. I have an envelope set aside and anyone on island that wants to bring a smile to a youngsters face, can put in a few guilders to help bring that smile to life!

Michael, I was going to email you to see how it all went Thank you and Ruth for taking the KFC to them...and the cake on Friday

I like the idea of making sure they all get LOTS of cake for their birthdays And annette makes the cakes BIG, so they have leftovers, which they love

Jerry, nothing was posted. I had emailed Annette to take a cake (as I do every year) to the little boy I sponsored (he is no longer at the home, but I didn't know this)...anyway, and emailed Ruth about paying for some KFC for them for dinner. Ruth as usual, stepped up to the plate and offered to pay for half the KFC, and then she and Michael would take the KFC and the cake to the boys (along with some gifts I had).

We could probably do something through BTCI donations. I have an idea, but need to run it by the mods first.

Jerry, last I heard a couple of weeks back was that the she and the other neighbors were battling out the legal aspects of the boat in the backyard issue. Poor Ruth has been feeling very poorly with other health related stuff so hasn't been able to post.

I just sent down a few more things with Kobi for Elvison. She gave them to Patty for him and I'm so excited to hear how he liked it ! It was the first time he's ever specifically asked for anything -- and in English no less ! We had such a great time in Feb...

I asked him what he wanted to be when he grows up and he didn't miss a beat --- an electrician. I wanted to just bring him home with me !!

I also enclosed some self-addressed stamped envelopes for him to write me and send pictures he draws. I'll keep you all posted !

Ruth has CTS in both wrists, and trapped nerves in both elbows, irritating the bursitis in both of her shoulders. Blah. Also, Ruth is getting the Angel Floating Restaurant boat (I think it's still in the water near Plaza/Port Bonaire), put on the land on the west side of her house (yes, they're taking the boat out of the water & planting it). This is all the typing for now. She has ordered voice recognition software, so should be "mouthing off" as usual soon enough.
