I'm here - OK - I'm here for a peaky peak! What a wild ride right now. I know that someday I'll be able to BREATHE!!!! It's pathetic when I even have to put an electronic calendar reminders to tell me to take my vitamins - AARGH!

Well my EXTREMELY quick update is - busy with work (Eastman), busy with PartyLite (BUT LOVING IT), busy with the new puppy (12 weeks and 36 lbs), busy getting ready for vacation (England March 23 - April 1), busy getting the house put together because we are renting it out while we are on vacation, busy taking Stephanie to airports for grad school visits. Hope the weather has been good up in Boston Jerry cause Steph was there Sunday through today and then she goes to Rhode Island tomorrow. So yes, she got in at MIT - and I'm pretty certain that is where she is going to go to school. If she does decide she is going she will probably do the summer research program which means two trips to Bermuda (hate it for her) and the rest of the summer on the Cape. Hate it for her - really I do.

Still haven't hit that 100 lb mark yet - I'm sitting at 98 right now...and sitting...and sitting - but I know what I need to do - up the water, up the exercise, up the protein. I'm in size 10's and 12's and am looking pretty good. If I don't get around to it before vacation, I'll take pics while on vacation and you can see the 100lb. less Mara.

Ok - that's my EXTREMELY short but sweet update.

Hugs - miss you all lots and lots and lots!

Mara

Hi Julia,

I would love to - here's where we'll be staying:

The Royalist in Stow on the Wold Sat & Sun (24th & 25th), and the Swan Inn in Philadelphia Mon& Tues (26th & 27th) , then Abelands Barn in Chinchester - West Sussex on Wednesday (28th) and then we are down to Eastbourne (sp?) Thursday through Sunday.

Where are you in relation to all of these places?

To all. Thanks for the sympathy and hugs yesterday, it does help. I'm trying to look on the bright side. The weather is beautiful today in Baltimore. I am one pound away from my goal of losing 30 lbs. Yeay! My skinny pants fit now. Hurray for you, Mara.

Morning all...Mara, congrats! I just can't imagine losing 100 pounds...you really should be proud of yourself...and Joyce, congrats too on your weight loss. I need to lose some weight myself...when I'm over this dang crud I'm heading back to the gym!

Jerry, that picture of bob is surely one that captures his 'essence'...how's the cold? My crud is seemingly hanging on more than I'd like it to...think I'll call the ENT and figure out why my sinuses are misbehaving so the last few months...certainly screwing up my dive plans...grrrrr!!!!

Rant off...whew, I do feel better, thanks.

Should be able to send out the wine real soon? UPS is giving the green light on liquids this week. Temp is close to 70 today. Snow for Sat.

Ahhhh, snow. the very thought of it chills my bones. Especially since we are having lots of it. Started on March 2 and hasn't much let up. For the entire winter, we have had (as of last night) 179.7 inches of snow. That puts this as the third snowiest winter on record. Four more inches and we will be in second place. And there's nothing but snow in the forecast. Temps are in the high 20s to low 30s.

Our house is a very, very snowy house!

Of course, its hardest on the cats, who so badly want to go outside, but don't want to be outside in the snow.

Quee seems the hardest hit. She is so bored...

Dan...my Darwin (who looks like your Quee) is very bored too! We are having a false spring and he so wanted to go out and play yesterday. He hasn't had his flea shot yet, so cannot go outside. At least the cold air moving in as we speak has calmed him down. :-)

Congrats on the weight loss ladies. Wish I could say I'm losing some weight, but I think I"ll have to exercise first. Darn it. I'd love to get back in to a size 12!

Jerry, that cartoon made me think of Monday. I had a migraine hit me like a load of bricks and I was lying down in a dark conference room trying to head it off. Fortunately no one came in and found me so I didn't have to make embarrasing explanations. Didn't work, either. :-(

Dan, don't know how you stand all that snow. I'd be super depressed. Hope it starts melting soon.

Our dogs are enjoying the warmer weather and surprised the resident ground hog. Fortunately the ground hog is fast and was close to his hidey hole. The dogs loved it and spent half and hour sniffing about. Wish they'd get the mole in the front yard!

Gotta run. Hope it's a good evening for you all.

Mara and Joyce, would love to see pics of the "new you's". Very excellent. I'd still like to lose about 6, but that's why we set up the exercise room again, though with my stepson down for this week we haven't used it! Too much talking and eating and bonding stuff. NEXT week, though....

Jerry, Bob looks like a client who lives under the overpass. ;)

I didn't take a "before" pic because I didn't want to know. I sure am undergrowing a lot of pants, that are going to be expensive to replace, but I can't complain about that! I'll look for a photo taken recently that's online, or else I'll have someone snap one this weekend. How about you Mara? The only problem is...BOB might like them too much. I don't need a stalker.

LOL - I do have before pics. I have taken pics in the same type of clothing at the same place in the house almost every month on or about the day of surgery so we can see the progress. But those shots don't really do the weight loss justice so over the next few weeks between home and vacation we'll take some shots so you can see. And yes, I'll include the dreaded before pics. And I'll also include some puppy pics too. She's a weed I tell you - a real weed. Already 36#'s and she's not quite 3 months yet.

Thanks everyone for saying hi and congrats. It's kind of funny not being recognized at work - actually it's kind of fun.

Have a stellar day!

Fortunately, Tribs, we don't have to worry too much about fleas up here. The cold tends to freeze them out every winter and then the summers are so short they don't have a chance to get bad.

Jerry, I figured if I was cold, everyone had to be cold.

Congratulations on the loss of weight, Joyce and Mara. Must feel good. I could stand to lose some--my wife a bit, too. Maybe I'll put that on my New Year's resolution list--Oh, wait, New Year has come and gone. Oh well. Maybe next year.

Lorinda does not do BT. No built in dive-buddy here.

Actually, its not all that cold here. Temps are in ranging in the high 20s to mid 30s. Yesterday, my truck temperature readout showed 36 at one point.

But, we're looking for more snow yet. Another inch and this will be the second snowiest year on record. Have several inches to go to become THE snowiest, but the forecast for tomorrow is 6 to 10 inches, so we may well make that.

One of the other web cams I watch, at least half the year, is the South Pole Cam. The temp there now is -73 F. That's not counting windchill. Enjoy it now, because it'll be dark soon...for a LONG time.
