Michael's Tuesday golf game got cancelled...it's raining AGAIN...isn't there a song about "It never rains in California?" lol...we were hoping to go to Catalina again this weekend, but there is another storm behind this one...guess we will have to go skiing instead.

Jerry, did you get snowed in????

So, how is your weather and how is your week going?

Hi Cynde,
Outstanding weekend here in MA.
Sunday AM with Caymus walking, and swimming along the beach, and a large swan swam out from behind a large rock.
I stopped in my tracks and just watched how beautiful it was, just then two more came out.
Caymus knows to keep away from swans.
We just sat and watched. Very special morning.

The ice is melting, the ice is melting!

Cynde

it frequently rains here, we have to use storm proof umberellas when we play golf. Snow and lightening are the only things that stops the golf. Fog is fun to play in, strangely the ball seems to fly straighter, the game ahead shouts clear so you know when to play.

I'm so glad I'm wearing boots today - Young and bold huh!!! ;-)

Brian - as soon as we make our B&B reservations for the early part of our week I'll let you know and maybe we can all get together. Pete is supposed to be doing that today, though I suspect we will have to do it this evening.

Sorry to hear it's raining there Cynde - it is BEAUTIFUL here. 47, sunny and just glorious. I think it's supposed to get up to 58 and then the low 60's for the next two days, then back into the high 40's. Rain is supposed to be coming in on Saturday so I'll have to do some yard stuff before then. Maybe the next few evenings.

Oh and here's the newest member of our family. We picked her up on the 17th and have been BUSY with this little girl. She's a sweetie though.

1

Work has been INCREDIBLY busy. We had a voluntary separation and an involuntary separation package here at work and I lost one to involuntary. I have another person on loan and a 3rd out on maternity leave. I now got my two IT projects going full speed ahead and a container management project that is to be implemented on April 2nd. WILD days - OH - and I am now selling PartyLite products too - as if I didn't have enough to do already.

Personal update - my current weight loss is now 96 lbs. Yep - count um - 96...I can see the century mark just around the corner. Maybe by this time next week. I only have 31 to go to reach my goal. I need to fit in exercise (consistently) now and then I'll be all good. OK - maybe some more in advance food planning too - but that's OK - it's all good!

Big hugs and I miss ya'll. I'll have a new picture pretty soon - well, when I hit the 100 pound loss mark.

And thanks about the puppy. Her name is Nia and she was a rescue. Her mother Dee Dee was actually giving birth when she was rescued. The person who owned her kept her and two other Great Danes outside all the time. He never had them spayed or neutered and really was much too busy for them so word finally got to a rescue group and they managed to get Dee Dee and her 11 month old daughter. Dee Dee had already given birth to 3 dogs when the lady arrive to rescue her. The night before the guy had told her that she wasn't due for 2 more weeks. Anywho - long story short, she managed to get Dee Dee and her three pups to her home in Maryland and has found homes for the three puppies. I think they are still looking for a home for Dee Dee. I met her and what a SWEETHEART! IF anyone is looking for a gentle and beautiful Great Dane then this is your girl. You can see her and read her story on http://www.dieterdane.com Just click on the available link.

Ok - gotta run - I've played enough - gotta get back to the workin' thing.

Miss you all lots and lots and lots.

Thank you for clarifying that Jerry, I missed that day in science when they were explaining it.
Freddie, I have never used Michelangelo paint but I have done some faux painting in one of our bathrooms. Tedious and time consuming but it looks wonderful! What are you painting? (oops, I hope you were serious or I am going to look really loopy here)

no need to feel loopy Rosanne, I am going to do my kitchen.. I first have to take the wallpaper down but don't want to do that until everything is in place.. this type of paint is suppose to go on in a single coat and then you use a tool.sponge, brush rag, etc. and when pressure is applied it instantly gives a textured effect . so you don't have to do the glaze coat...

That sounds like it is much easier! We did it with 3 paint layers, it took a long time just to do our bathroom! We did learn to practice your technique before using the rag or brush because until you get the feel for it it tends to be very inconsistent. Good luck! I wish I had heard about this before!

Cynde, That would be fine - I don't mind at all.

And really she's only destroyed Pete's laptop power cord and a keyboard cord. Both times it's when he allows her to lie under his desk at home while he's working. You'd think after the first time he'd remember. LOL! We have been working especially hard that the no chew command and then quickly put one of her toys in her mouth followed by the Good Girl command. She's FUNNY - I wish I had a video camera more readily available - OK maybe one on her at all times. This morning after we went outside we came back in and Monty - our walkabout cat - was on the fireplace hearth. So I called him to come up to the top of the cat tower which he did. All of a sudden this little black head pops up in the hole in the middle of the third "floor" of the cat tower. Nia just LOVES Monty...he's her favorite 4 legged friend. Monty will play with Nia and when she gets too rough he'll pop her...it's REALLY cute. I wonder if Monty realizes just how big she is going to get.

Thanks - I am still feeling good too. And it's amazing but my hubby is happy for me too - LOL! I don't think he knew what to expect as he has NEVER seen me this small before and I've still got 31 or so to go. I'd like to stop at another 31 so we'll see how this goes. But gosh at 7 months - which was Saturday - it was 93 lbs. It will be over 100 in 8 months so I might just hit my goal within the 1 year time frame.

I still can't believe 96 pounds...that is just amazing...you should be so proud of yourself!

I heard that Anna Nicole had gastric bypass surgery to lose all her weight, and that it wasn't trim spa...and what about Kirsty Alley, do you think she had surgery or lost 75 pounds on Jenny Craig? I was on Jenny Craig, and I don't think I could have stayed on it for as long as she did...purley speculation here, but I'm curious!

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Mara, Mara -she's here somewhere (Extraordinary BonaireTalker - Post #1851) on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 - 2:37 pm:     Edit PostPrint Post

hmmm - Anna Nicole Smith - maybe; Kirsty Alley - I don't think so. Of course, if they did bypass on Anna Nicole I would have some serious questions regarding her surgeons. I don't think that she was THAT heavy and probably NOT 100+ lbs overweight but then again I didn't follow much of the news on her.

Now Star Jones - YES - and don't deny it girlfriend. Randy Jackson - yes (but I think he has put some of it back on). Wikepedia has some of them mentioned but they aren't completely accurate. For example they list Sharon Osborne as having had bypass but she actually had banding done. She is supposedly going to or has had it removed, which of course is an option.

So anywho - that's my story and I'm sticking to it. And I can't BELIEVE that people think that Nocle Richie had gastric bypass. But anywho - it's all good. OK - I've had WAY too long of a lunch break - must get back to work.

Ciao

Last night was fun, did the shopping, cooked diner,(Beef Bourguignonne) cleaned the stove, vents, and washed the floor, all in three hours. Louise sat at the bar as I cooked, had some wine, and we just talked a bit. Then when diner was ready, we just sat where we where and had a nice quiet diner, with more wine.
After diner, Louise and I talked a bit more about our day, had more wine! I started to clean, Louise took a Jacuzzi.

Tonight it's my turn to kick back.

Jerry, when you are done at my house you can kick back and take a jacuzzi:-) heh heh ;-)

Give that woman of yours a hug for me, she is a sweetheart:-)

Rosanne and CB, send Eric and Ravi down here, Michael can give them cooking lessons. He is a wonderful cook, and I'm more in the category of Ravi...I will never forget what Sarah said to me at the tender age of six...Michael was working swing shift so I was in charge of caring for her most of the time. I knew I had to feed her healthy, veggies, fruit, protein, etc...she couldn't grow up on my staples, cheese quesidillas and toast...so I learned to make "chicken strips"...one night, she looked at me and said "can we have something other than chicken strips sometime?" poor kid had them 7 nights a week...lol! So, I had to "expand" my menu...that's when I discovered cheese, the other 'white meat.'

Cynde, you did seem to be struggling while preparing the crudites at booms house this past October. LOL! Well, I don't want to sell Ravi short, he can hang a picture straighter than any man I know (thanks to his pocket laser level!)
My dad did most of the cooking when I was growing up because my mom never learned and really had no interest. I would bring these elaborate cakes and cupcakes to school and was embarrassed to say my dad made them (it just wasn't cool back then)! I believe I inherited my dads ability to cook, at least I hope so!

Rosanne, keep up the good work.
What is your best dish, and what wine would serve with it?

Rosanne, what's a "crudites"???? lol! Oh, yes, and that squash thingie that I had no idea what it was, so made it into my botox lips...
cynde got big lips

and lol on "my dad made them" when growing up...I bet you didn't want to tell your classmates that!

Ok, Rosanne, now I have to meet Ravi. I have to measure the wall and make sure the picture is EXACTLY in the middle, if that's where I want it, or I can't sleep at night.
Cynde, Eric can microwave prepared food, but he absolutely balks at turning on the stove. He is a default vegetarian at home, since I am. But he seems to like my cooking.
Jerry, I had an Elena Zin last night that I was so looking forward to...somebody had talked me in to buying it and I paid more than I usually would on their recommendation. I was disappointed. I've been on to Bogel reds at your direction, they have made me happy...
Ok, off to work, late as usual...bad piano tuner!

Well Jerry, I make awesome chicken marsala and most of my desserts are pretty darn good! (I do not like beef so I tend to make poultry or pasta dishes). I have not been able to drink wine for several years, I totally lost my taste for it but Opus one and Caymus cabs were my favorite. I always leave the wine selection up to someone else.

Cynde,OMG the lips, I still have that photo! LOL! CB your'e scaring me now, When Bertha comes to clean she always makes the pictures crooked and Ravi has a melt down and goes around fixing them as I sit back and laugh!

I wish we did not live so far apart, O1 & Caymus is always on hand at my house. Louise is a chicken person as well. I have to cook two diners some nights. But it's no problem, she always helps when that takes place. Meat is done on one side of the kitchen, chicken is on the other, along with it's own cook ware.

I know nothing about Elena Zin, but did find it in my data base, so I must have tried it at some point????

I did not rate it very well 1-10, I gave it a 3.

Jerry, you cook kosher? I wish you and Louise lived closer too. A bike shop in CA would do good, it doesn't snow here!

Ok, back by popular demand...

Yes, I cook kosher, if I can find all the proper ingredients.

There are 2.5 b bike shops in SC. I'm the only game here in town.

Jerry...chicken on one side, beef on the other...special pans...that's kosher isn't it? Pretty close...

2.5 b bike shops in SC? really? You are probably right...best to be the only game in town even if it is colder than a witches you know what right now!

Boom served the white merlot...it's her fault...AND it was that dang spam that made my lips explode!
