GH I am pretty much fully recovered. I'm only allowed to lift up to 35 lbs but that's OK, I just do more reps at a lower weight. So far I've lost 42 lbs and that's been over 9.5 weeks so I'm not complaining. What does seem to be happening though is that I am not able to eat red meat right now and actually that isn't bothering me. The ONLY thing that I really miss, and I know this might seem weird, but it is chugging water. It's all about the sipping now. But yes, thank you - I have recovered very well.

And how are you feeling with the shades drawn and sunglasses on. Reminds me of the song - I wear my sunglasses at night...

Mara, 42 pounds...wow, good for you! That is amazing! Congratulations. I know what you have been going through has not been easy, and has certainly been challenging in so many ways. I hope you have a good support system...if you need extra, you know where to go I would miss chugging water too...I quit eating red meet and pork when I was 18...then started again when I met my current husband...I really should think about cutting back, I think I've gone the other direction after so many years of not eating it....lol!

Well, we are on day numero 18 of migraine hell...woohooo! I actually ended up in my neuros partners office a couple of days ago...figured before I went off the deep end I better call the office once more in a desperate attempt for some type of help. He was out of town so I saw his partner. I have no idea how you can tell the same doctor the same thing, and one get's it, and one does not. Well this guy GOT IT...lordy...anyway, his style of treatment is just different...a little more aggressive, and in the 21 century I think. So, he started me on a couple of things and I actually was pain free (1 or 2) yesterday until around 3:30PM!!! I'ts mild this am, but I'm encouraged that I actually SLEPT Shades still on, but heck, when I call his office today I can actually say I had a few hours of pain freeness (with no drugs), which is something I havent' had in 17 days! Woooohooo!

Michael did ask for some of my vanilla ice cream last night...I let him have some lol!

I just re-read that...I should say by "deep end" I mean, desperate migraine measures....bandana with a pencil around my head and twist the pencil till bandana is tight...kind of like a vice...lol...box of wine with a straw...2 boxes of wine with a straw...lol...

I completely understand the get it, don't get it. It's amazing how some folks just keep on going over the same thing with the same bad results but never figure out that maybe that the old way isn't working anymore. I have issues with antibiotics...as in I took WAY too many over a course of several years and they had to increase the strength of them to even have have a mild effect on me. Finally someone got it.

But anywho - glad that you have some moments of relief. I think I'd change to the dr's partner on a more permanent basis.

And enjoy that ice cream. I made a glazed tofu loaf which sounds gross but was and is actually really good. It's part tofu, part turkey and a whole lot of other things too.

Nope, but that was one of the options that this new and wonderful doc gave me With the the LOCATION of origin of mine, apparently, this is an option for relief! Didn't know that for the last friggin' year! Despite asking the doctor a MILLION times...grrrr....I asked him a LOT of questions, and a LOT of the same questions I asked this other one...

Yea Mercy, I've been told that by a couple of folks as well via private email, but neither doc has "mentioned it" so I doubt it's on their list if treatment...I am not going back to the "old" (and his is older) doc, that is for sure. Woke up this morning with no pain...so, I'm a happy camper

And MOST docs are NOT going to mention it Cynde. Still not very acceptable by anyone in the Western medicine community. I'm just always looking for an alternative method for anything that ails me first before I'll go to the norm.

My arthritis has been helped tremendously by medical pot.

And for those that can't, or don't like the idea of smoking it, they have edibles at all the dispensaries where you buy it.

Only legal in 10 states though..and still illegal federally...stoopid!!

If I were suffering that much with how bad I've heard migraines can be (18 days straight?!?!) I would try just about anything!!

Mercy, I am glad to read you have been able to find relief without polluting your system with more chemicals. I agree, the laws forbidding medicinal marijuana are stupid. Make sure to tell your elected officials how you feel - I do.

The war on drugs is only 36 years old, I'm sure they are about to turn the corner and solve the drug problem forever.

There is actually an active politician in California that has been trying to legalize pot for medicinal purposes for years. Can't remember his name right now, met him once at an event and got his card. He wrote a book, and it's ALL politics. Won't even go there.
