Drinking coffee (It's a littler earlier out here.)
Then I have to go in to a retail account and wrestle with a piano so that it's PERFECT (nothing's perfect) before delivery.
Then I'm going to my friend's house for a luau. He's dug a pit in his yard, lined it with rocks, and he's cooking a pig. he lives in a fairly urban environment, so if his neighbors don't kill him, I'm amazed. But, since I don't live there, I'm prepared to have a really good time.
I'm a vegetarian, so I'm planning on staying in whatever yard the pig corpse isn't, can always come home early if I get grossed out.
I'm making a rice with fruit and nuts and chili dish. No wine with this one, Jerry...I'm suspecting there will be some little paper umbrellas, though. Do you have Diddam's Party Stores on the east coast? It's such a comfort to know there's a place where you can run in and buy a coconut shell bra whenever you need one.

I love coconut bras. Are you a piano tuner?

Who doesn't love a good coconut bra.
Yup, I tune and repair pianos. Funny little job, do it 40 - 60 hours a week; lots of work and very pleasant work. From your job description, you most be a putterer, too?

Hi Jerry, Barbara and Gail! I have been busy with re-modeling stuff at home here. Daughter off to college now, so we have moved her bedroom downstairs to the lower level per her request and have freshly painted her old digs for Brandon to move into as it is bigger and has lots of shelves. Now having to pick out paint for the other two bedrooms upstairs and thus have started a jelly roll effect here, Doors need to be replaced as they don't match now. So, question is to either stain some new ones or paint them. Decisions to be made and lots of work. Will look nice when all done. But, now hubby is working on installing a new pool cover for our inground pool and needs my assistance. So, that's my week-end so far plus watching Brandon play soccer tommorrow and I do have work tonight and am tomorrow. What happened to nice relaxing week-ends? LOL!

Some years back I rebuilt a Hammond B-3. Boy I loved that baby. My dad was a musician, music was a big part of my like until I got married. Now I just play the CD's. Yah, drugs and rock, then jazz, blues, I do miss it sometimes.

Debbie, my niece was in law school, had a child, and was living hundreds of miles from home, but she was still bitter when my sister turned her old room in to a den!
My sympathies on the remodeling thing. When we bought this old house three years ago, it needed quite a bit of work before we could move in, and I thought I'd go crazy. It was all one step forward and two steps back...the contractor would fix the door but break the window. I never knew it would bother me so much until I lived through it, and that was with, I think, good contractors.
Jerry, the B3 is about he only vacuum tube organ anyone values at all anymore. Everything is digital. I once saw a Hammond in a church that had been "repaired"...whoever did it had gutted the old organ without telling the church, and put in a digital system. I'm sure he did it to get the Leslies, which are still an engineering marvel.
I work on acoustic instruments, and although manufacturers like Yamaha have really good schools which include service of their digital systems, I really prefer wood and steel.
I'll never be a very good player, but my work keeps me in touch with some very cool, talented people, and that makes me go home and practice.
Lucky me...I found a little niche in the working work where I fit happily...

Got a little break so am back. I am lucky to have hubby be able to do all the re-modeling so no contractors! He is quite handy and I get what I want within reason of course! It's really not hard core re-modeling, that has all be done years ago, just new paint, new doors and window treatments, oh, and some new area rugs as we have lovely hardwood floors throughout, so a new rug to match what paint I pick out to spruce those rooms up a bit. Daughter isn't due back till holidays, so her new digs should be done and she will love having her room away from her brother and her own bathroom! Good time of the year for such things and each kid gets a new look for their rooms! Break over, back to work...

Jerry, how's Caymus doing?
