I want to send out thoughts and prayers to everyone today on the five year anniversary of 9/11. It is just as sad today as it was the day it happened.

Thank you Lisa for starting this thread.. I just got this from a friend and thought it was a wond3erful way to say thanks...
If you go to this web site, www.letssaythanks.com , you can pick out a
thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services.
How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!!

Thank you for that link Freddie. I will send one out today. It is so important for them to know they have people that really appreciate what they are over there doing for us.

My husband's cousin is in Iraq right now. He has two boys and a wife at home. Stephanie had a good friend leave for Iraq yesterday. It hit her pretty hard to watch him leave. She drove all the way to North Carolina to say good bye to him.

5 years ago exactly we were here in Bonaire when this vicious attack happened and after our first dive we watched the events after the 1st plane hit on the TVs at the Deco Stop. We are here again and will stop and offer our thoughts and wishes for the families and friends left behind.

Lisa - thanks for starting this thread & Freddie thanks for the link. I will pass it along.
A very sad day. It touched everyone's lives - forever.

Here's a link to a trucker who painted his cab & trailer with the names of all those who lost their lives on that horrific day

As I drove to work this morning I was listening to some of the news coverage in NY and Pennsylvania. After they sang the Star Spangled Banner and the bagpipes played, they had a minute of silence. That minute of silence in busy NYC and everywhere had a greater impact than any of the commentary by the many newscasters. May we all be able to hang on to the peace of that silent minute as long as possible. I'm praying that this peace finds a home in the hearts of those who would perpetuate more such horrors.

Lisa, thanks for starting this thread. Freddie, beautiful rock. Judy, simply amazing truck...brought tears to my eyes.

The last 2 nights I've been watching memorials on TV about the 911 victims. Last night it was about the 2 men that were doing the documentary on the new fireman. There has been a memorial wall located at Engine 10 Ladder 10, directly across from Ground Zero.

Thoughts and prayers to those we lost on this horrific day and to all the people serving in the military and to those who protect us each and every day, God Bless...

That rock is awesome and when we visited ground zero we saw the bronze plaque, very moving pieces of art.

.This is at a huge rock near a gravel pit on Hwy 25 in rural Iowa. For generations, kids have painted slogans, names, and obscenities on this rock, changing its character many times. A few months back, the rock received its latest paint job, and since then it has been left completely undisturbed. Quite an impressive sight. I thought the flag was draped over the rock, but it's not. It's actually painted on the rock too.

Prayers and thoughts to all who were lost on 9/11.

Here's a nice page on the policemen who were lost that day.

I watched several interviews and documentaries on 9/11 last night. All I can say is we can NEVER FORGET what happened. I won't comment on how I feel about the current situation, however, I hope our troops come home from Iraq soon, and we can focus on Bin Laden and what he and his people did. It angers me that he has not been the focus the last 5 years. They say there WILL be another attack, it's just a matter of where, and when...

Rant off.

Check Please!
