Jerry, we finally got home for the weekend.

Stephanie had pre-college at Ohio University in Athens for the last two days. It was a lot of info to take in. She is a little overwhelmed, but glad things are taken care of. Her dad, Ashley and I had to go to parent classes while Stephanie took her placement test and met with her advisors. We got to see her dorm and I was shocked to see how small it is. She is in a quad dorm and I really don't see how four girls could stay in that tight of a space without killing each other. She likes that the bathroom is right across from their room. I like that the Residence Assistants room is right beside hers. She said they will just have to be more sneaky!! I will try to post some pics later.

Kelly, I will post them after I size them down. She was in tears last night and said "I changed my mind, I don't want to go to college". Yesterday was a long day. We had to start at 8:30 am and didn't get done until 10:00 last night. Today was a better day and we were done with everything by around noon.

This is the first day we were at OU. We left Stephanie in the morning and this was the first time we saw her again. We met for lunch and to talk about how her day was going. Ashley was ready to spend time with Steph cause she had to hang out with us the whole time.

This is a couple pics of her dorm. It should be interesting to see how all her clothes are going to fit.....

This is Stephanie and her room mate Halley checking out the dorm for the first time. They have no air conditioning so it felt like it was 105 in the room.

Kelly, I will have to send you the picture of Stephanie I took. She is letting me know what she thinks of the "quiet hours" in her dorm. Have a great weekend everyone!!

Lisa, thanks for the pics and the commentary. I can't imagine 4 girls sharing that small space...looks like boot camp to me...lol! I can just see her having a breakdown...it's a scary world out there! Steph is a lucky girl to have parents (4) that love her so much!

Cynde, me neither ! Way too small of a space for all that ego! lol! Let us just hope and pray that they all get along. Not much place to go if they don't!

Lisa, did you get to see Lacey and Mara's dorm room??

Wow Lisa, she sure is one beautiful young lady. You must be very proud of her. Can't she apply for an apartment style dorm? We have them on my campus. They consist of two women per bedroom with a common living area between the two rooms. I have to admit that does look a little cramped.

We are praying that the other two girls don't ever show. Right now the paperwork says Stephanie, Halley and the other two names say NA. We keep hoping they have the dorm all to themselves. They wont move anyone around until at least the third week of school so maybe they will be alone until then at least. They don't offer any apartment style dorms on campus. It sure doesn't look like much for over $8,000!!

The fridge is in the room with four desks. So one area is beds and the other side is the closets. The other area is a fridge, microwave and four desk. Not much room to move around. There is a common area downstairs that all the kids can use. She has boys on her floor as well.



Kelly, I didn't go see Lacey and Mara's room. Linda said she drove passed it and Lacey went up. I am sure it's small too. They got a double room. I forgot to tell you the best part..... When we move her in, we move up to the fourth floor and there are NO elevators. Wont that be fun at the end of August!!

Kelly, Stephanie got a new camera. She put the pictures from her old one on our computer so I thought I would post these for you.

Heh, reading about Stephanie suddenly deciding she didn't want to go to college after all... that brought back memories! I really was unhappy about heading off to college when I went, just wanted to stay living at home forever -- but when I got home at Christmas break, I couldn't wait to get back to college, and couldn't stand being home! Today I look back on my life back then and wonder what the heck was so great about living at home that I wanted to keep doing it forever???
