Just a quick start to this thread!!

Bas surprised Yana and I on Super Bowl Sunday be flying to NC to spend a week.

After picking him up from the airport Sunday night Bas went to Jacksonville to spend part of the week with Yana (we shared him).

He then came up on Wednesday night and took off part of Thursday to play with him before he went back to Yana's to try to play on the beach on Friday.

Friday afternoon both Bas and Yana returned to my house to attend a 50th birthday party of the guy who taught both Dirk and myself to dive.

Saturday was spent playing and eating Sushi!! Yana then went home (hated to see her go:-(:-(:-() and we chilled the night away watching movies. Bas was very impressed with movies on demand - he loved the fact that you could push a button and you could watch the movie - even pause, rewind or fast forward it!!!LOL!!

Sunday was a lazy morning and then we took Bas to airport to start his trip back home!!

Will post pictures later as they are on my other computer!!

Yana and Bas can fill more details in if they desire!!

BAS - as I said Sunday night - thanks for stopping and spending the time with us - we really had a GREAT time.:-):-):-)

Yana - as always - I love spending time with you and can't wait for that 50th birthday bash in October!!! Plus our adventures this summer. Maybe you will make another trip to Raliegh before that!!!

PS - my oldest son thinks Bas is really cool!!!!:-):-):-)

All,

What a fun time we had with Bas. He is the easiest guest to entertain and he COOKS too!

Sunday night…..we were yakkin till 2 am.

Monday morning we started our day the way we always start our day in Bonaire….with pancakes! Then Bas and I went shopping for items for him to make his famous coconut and chicken soup. Next, Bas took me to work and I explained how to use the GPS in my truck and then he went shopping for Eddie. Later in the evening we went out for Mexican food and topped the evening off with after dinner drinks and more“yakkin”

Tuesday, I rode to work with Craig and Bas began his soup making. Then around 4:30 he drove out to where Craig and I work and “toured” the simulator for 2 hours. After the “tour” we went home and had DELICIOUS soup and French bread. Bas made enough to share with Bettie and Mary. mmmm good.

Bas was surprised to know our neighbors were “watching” our house and him. They made the calls to one another and then to me at work….”There’s a young man on Yana’s deck cracking something”…”What’s he cracking”…”I think maybe a coconut?...I’m not sure”….”Who would crack coconuts this early in the morning?.. And why would they crack 6 coconuts?”…”Must be for somebody’s birthday cake”….”I’ll say pretty big cake” Needless to say I got the full report on Bas’ activities. I guess you can tell most of my neighbors are retired folks. They always let me know how many smoke breaks the house keeper takes…..lol

And now you know the rest of the story.

Maybe…more to tell on shopping?:

Glad to hear about the sippy cup. Last August his cup was pretty beat and on it's last legs.

Uh....spider roll? Who moved too much, the people eating the end pieces or the legs inside the end pieces?

Them be Sunday go to meeting clothes there Tom. Now the real question is how is he going to get that double wide, pickup truck, hound dog, case of Malboros, case of budwiser and shotguns through Bonaire customs.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Beauregard Bales (BonaireTalker - Post #93) on Friday, February 17, 2006 - 11:04 am:     Edit PostPrint Post

Mr. Cecil, if he wears dark sunglasses, puts a harness on the dog, paints the shotguns white and uses them like canes after drinking himself blind on the Budweiser, all he will have remaining to sneak past customs are the doublewide and truck. Will get back to you with suggestions on those soon, I hope;-)

7mare here!
I am soooo glad that Bas did not have one of his snowmen mooning! We did a dive with him to the underwater cam when it was over at small wall. We brought along a Little Mermaid figure -- Ariel. In our hands, she waved

from left to right:Mare, Bas, Ariel, Seb

in Bas's hands, she mooned!

Hellllooooooo!

thanks for the giggles,
Mare

Hi all
Mary, thanks for posting some Maine pictures! We had a great time with Bas.

The skiing picture was taken at our local ski lodge where he spent the day skiing with our son, Joe. Bas had his GPS with him, fastest run, 60mph!

The cat is our Maine Coon, Zana, she loved Bas, followed him all around. Looking at him with dreamy eyes. It was cute.

We had Maine lobster a couple of times, Bas decided it wouldn't be a good idea to wrestle with one of those underwater. He did take the bands off one before putting it in the pot, crazy.

It was fun to see tan Bas in the snow, he and Joe, the Dad, made the snowlady and decorated her for her photo op. She is wearing my mask and reg set up and Joe's fins. She was alone for a week til we got more snow. Monday morning I came down to a snow family! Bas was up till midnight making the rest. Take a gooooooood look at the snowman, he isn't mooning............ hmmmmmmmmm :-) We got crazy one night after dinner and drinks and went sledding, it was great.
He cooked for us too, I miss his omelets, yum......
We had such a good time with him it was hard to see him go. Great thing is we will be visiting him in 18 days!! Can't wait!!!
Mary Lou

Yana - call me!!!

Mare look very close at the snowman - no mooning going on!!! I may send you another shot via email!!!LOL!!! you'll love it!!!

Mary- we did get the cd, awesome pictures :-) yes that snowman.......:-) nice package. LOL we had an interesting lawn for a bit :-) I am afraid we had to "fix" him though, can't have the neighbors thinking we are odd, LOL!!!

Bas was the best guest! Every night when I came home from work, he was right there with a big smile, "would you like a glass of wine?" Loved it.

It was fun to see your pictures too! I took Bas to Walmart here and he stocked up on stuff. Then I took him to Reny's, a Maine store. He was in heaven, the red plaid shirt he is wearing in some of your pictures came from there. Also the bikini the snowlady is wearing. We had so much fun with him. It was fun to show him our neck of the woods!
