Folks, Diane Gould posted this in yesterday's Webcam thread:

quote:

It is going to be a while before we get back to Bonaire. Ron is in intensive care waiting to be transferred to Heinz Vets Hospital for a minimum of triple by-pass surgery.(probably tomorrow)
We appreciate all your thoughts & prayers.

DIANE GOULD

Ron and Diane, I wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you folks.

All, to those of you that have not personally met Ron, here is a picture of him waving at you from Gibi's this past October.

Hi folks.

Also in the picture are Diane, their son Randy and Barbara (aka Babs).

I just got back from Hines Vets Hospital. Ron's surgery went well--triple by-pass. He is now in the intensive care recovery unit --still not quite awake. There isn't any expected complications and he should be home in a few days ---whoopeeee I am sure all of your prayers helped along with the hugs. He enjoyed them all.
Thanks again ----Diane

That is excellent news!! We are sure missing his words of wisdom on this forum!!

A lot of people have been sending hugs, and part of his recovery is to take deep breaths/cough and support his incision by hugging a pillow / blanket.

So, if he can visualize all the wonderful hugs people are sending his way and that will give him even more strength and speed up his recovery.

Thanks for the update.

Another {{{hug}}} going your way.

Hi All, Ron was my first dive buddy in Bonaire many years ago; back when we stayed at the old Sunset Beach. He and his family are great people. We have stayed in touch over the years but we never seem to hit the island at the same time. Anyway, I spoke to Ron today on the phone and he sounded great. He was looking forward to going home. Some of his doctors are divers and they say he can keep diving. Ron seems to think in about 6 months or so. It was good talking to him again. Jeff
