Good morning, Freddie and Meryl and late-rising cammers! Bas shares his birthday with Casanova! (Great pipx, Freddie!)

Great Lovers Day

1725 - Casanova's Birthday, writer

Carob Bean Day Rumor has it that chocolate can restore the soul - or at least make you feel good. But, what about carob? Is it the "health food" chocolate of the world? When it comes to calories, sugar content and nutrition, there is very little difference. But, carob tastes sweeter than chocolate before they are processed. When you use carob in a recipe instead of chocolate, you can add less sugar.

As usual, as work gets boring, tedious or just on my nerves, I can come here and laugh! Bluto rules Steve! You all have years on me and my sweetie, (we've know each other for 18 years, but only been a couple for 1 1/2!) but it sure is nice to see people still crazy about each other after all these years...or is it just crazy after all these years??? In any case, have a great Lovers Day all!!

Bob and I worked together for three years and ignored each other completely. We were both DJs and the management gave him my good Saturday afternoon shift and bumped me to 6am. So I hated him. :)

The noon to six was PRIMETIME and he got it. The last three weeks before I moved away to a job in Maine - we fell utterly, madly in love. Then I moved away for five years! We didn't see each other for five years. Is this boring you?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Cindy Reed on Tuesday, April 2, 2002 - 8:00 pm:     Edit PostPrint Post

boring me? no. I just had to go out and water the plants, check on the catapillar/crysalis, get dinner on the stove.... I think how we met stories are facinating.

It's strange that you ignored each other for so long, only to be parted at the first hint of true love. I guess you kept in touch during those 5 years?

Mine, on the other hand, was love at first sight. Alas, I was in an unhappy marriage and had no clue as to Jim's feelings on the subject. So we knew each other as friends for 2 years before I got out of the other match and he finally professed his love. (think I should write one of those sleezy romance novels) LOL

I called him once in a while when I was on the all night shift at WABK in Augusta, ME but we lost touch when I moved to WDIZ in Orlando. When I came up to visit my Dad one summer I decided to try Bob's phone number and see if he was still around. Yep. So I invited him to spaghetti dinner at Dad and Jo's and he stayed for a week - til I went back home. Then he packed up his carpentry business and moved South. We got married two weeks later! He planned the whole thing while I was working mid-days. Surprise!! (Kids, don't try this at home. It doesn't always work out!!)

Rusty, 4 children 30,26,26,19 Oldest daughter and youngest son married. I don't think the twins (boy & girl) will for a long time. Julie married at 19 one year after H.S. graduation and still is. Jamie got engaged at Christmas, H.S. Graduation in May & Married in August. On his wedding day he was only 18 and didn't have a single doubt about what he was doing. He's growing into a very nice young man.

Rusty, I don't feel old enough either.:) I only have the one, but he'll be 26 next month. He was married at 19 and divorced 8 months later. This one will last. They've already been together 5 years and she treats him much better than the 1st wife.

Nice pic Holly. Lovely children.
