This is marine biologist Caren Eckrich writing from Sea & Discover. I'm working with a group of high school kids interested in nautical archaeology. BONAI is the name of the group. We only have a few weeks left on this project and we need any information you may have on anchors and sunken boats on the west coast of Bonaire. We have good info on the Hilma Hooker, Our Confidence, the Sea Cow, the waterbarge, and the Valerie Queen. Items on our list include the tugboat in front of Sunset Beach, and the anchors at Divi Flamingo, Carib Inn, Yellow Submarine, Karpata, and Red Slave. Information such as which boat did they come from, how old are they, etc. We also would like to know about Jeff Davis, MD and Ralph Bender, MD. since they are remembered in memorials here. Albert Bianculli is helping us with photos, but if you have any photos you would like to send us of these artifacts, we would certainly appreciate it. We may publish them...Please contact me at info@seandiscover.com or respond here at Bonaire Talk. If you send photos, please make them small because I'm on a dial-up connection. If we're going to use them and need better quality, I'll ask for you to send it again.
Thank you!

Hey Walt! Great shots! We're only including anchors in shallow depths, but I think one of yours is now in shallow water. That's the one we're interested in. It also had a wooden stock. How did you find out about the boats using these anchors while loading salt? Can you email me your phone number? I would love to find out what you know...
