Sometimes being a fancy pants boat builder has a perk or two. Our glass supplier is footing the bill for a little junket to China for 2 weeks.
Really major cool deal...what can I, every now and then a blind nut finds a squirrel.
We will land in LAX on 4 Nov around 3PM and fly out the next day around lunch.
Anybody got any suggestions on what to do for one evening within striking distance of LAX. Nice place to eat, something interesting to see, a little dancing maybe.

Hey, Wally, can't you rearrange that trip to go through SF instead? Alison and I would love to pick you up and tour the City with you...Yeah, that's it...the glass supplier doesn't care where you fly through...:-):-):-)

Wally

How about the Queen Mary. We stayed in a State Room in Feb 2000 and the Champagne Brunch (Sunday) was absolutly great. The tour around her is very interesting too.

Brian, the Queen Mary is beautiful isn't she! It's more than a striking distance away from LAX though, would be an expensive cab ride me thinks...

Cynde - Happy birthday. The QM is fantastic, our room was all wood and art deco fittings. Our taxi driver was crazy I think he drove at 90mph most of the way.

Brain, welcome to LA...hee hee! They all drive that way, as does everyone else...still nada compared to Puerto Rico drivers! I spent the night on her back in the early 80's, and Michael and I went up one day a couple years ago and toured her and had dinner at the nice restaruant on the top:-)

Barbara & Allison sounds great....probably hard to land in SF at 3 and be in LAX the next day at 11 though. Rats
Smoky little jazz R&B clubs work for us. The firehouse sounds just right. There is a nice little hole in the wall in downtown Charleston called Big Mamma's...yeah Big Mamma sure can sing and her boys sure can play. Eva's got her black dress on...Oh yeah, it's the beginning of a beautiful friendship
