OK, Hudini/Peaches is a funny little bird...loves to shred paper, which I guess is common with love birds...

Here she is grabbing the paper..
paper

After she would shred a strip, she would carefully tuck it under her wing...saving it for later???
shredcopy

Here is the strip tucked under her wing...when she would shred a new strip, she would tuck it, and the other one would fall out...
wing

Anyone got crazy animal stories???

LOL Cynde! Typical behaviour 4 those lovely lovebirds! Ours does it all the time. If he is out of his cage, we have to hide all the papers :-)
The paper-routine indicates it probably isn't a very young bird (the shredding of paper and trying 2 keep it is part of the nesting behaviour of lovebirds).
If u end up owning the bird, you might want 2 consider another cage. The beak of lovebirds is pretty wide at the base. Often the cages with the vertical bars allow the lovebird 2 push it's beak just through them, but because it fits only just it sometimes happens that the lovebird loses the upper half of it's beak when it pulls back (I've seen pictures of it :-( ). The bird won't be able 2 eat, so this will kill him :-(. Horizontal bars or crossed bars are better 4 lovebirds. (enables them 2 climb more 2 :-) )
Crazy animal stories... hmmm. Our lovebird is trying 2 feed us and his toys all the time :-) It looks funny when he's doing that!
ohhh and he can dance 2! :-)

If you are not going to take him to Laguna Beach lose the "Peaches";-{)} Neat little paper shredder. Wonder why Staples Stores do not stock them yet.

Igor, If we ever get a Love Bird, I hope to remember your suggestions. Would like to see photos of your bird as well.

Igor, thanks for the cage tip...I bought new toys for the cage as the other ones had metal chains, etc...and had read about horror stories of those! I'm glad that he has a personality! I'd like to know how long they live as well! Eileen, I have a friend with a cockatiel and it is 18 years old, still lays eggs! Ours never shredded paper though!

Tom, I'm giving him junk mail to shred...LOL!

Dini...like the nickname...Houdini is kind of long...

The average livespan of a lovebird is between 15 and 20 years but when hold in a cage the livespan is between 10 and 15 years (average, I know a lovebird of 21 years!).

Ok I cannot resist. Here are more pictures of Milo :-)

Aunt Blabby, Great idea!!!!!

Igor, Thanks for posting that information. After reading Eileens request I did a search and could not post (coward!!!!!) as one site claimed the same for Cockatiels.

Also thanks for the photos of Milo. I really like that name Miiiiiiilooooo. Only a true friend will pick your nose for you. LOL!! Sorry that was gross.

lovebirds I can't believe these are the same lovebirds BoxerBob and I kept once upon a time. Ours were nasty, biting, paranoid-schizophrenics. And the pair we thought we had were both boys. I think we got took. LOL

Rusty we did have third cockatiel that died 2 years ago:-( and it was a colourful yellow and grey one (piebald I think). We thought it was a boy for 11 years (we know 2 where boys because of the yellow faces), until it laid an egg. I guess he/she wasn't a boy! We finally after 11 years realized why the other 2 where always singing and trying to mate with he/she.

Rusty, I've heard that if you have two, they will bond to each other and are hard to socialize with us...having one, they will bond to us:-)
