Hi Animal Lovers - All,

The following was part of an e-mail to our Cynde. I have cleaned it up.

"You post about your little budgie, (I vote for Hoodini by the way.) and a hour ago, I get a call from my darling wife saying that she found a stray
cat while she was working at her mother's house.

Worse yet, she is like you, she took it home. Oh DELETE!!! She promised she was going to try to find its' owner, yeah right;-{)} Two male (well once were male) cats, there won't be a need for television for a while, not when we will be having our own Friday (everyday) night fights for
a while. "And in this corner, weighing at at 10 and one half pounds, minus his DELETE, he hails from the barrios of the Humane Society---------"

There is some weird going on right about now and I am blaming it on BT for putting our households into some mysterious twilight zone."

Well, I got home, asked the "Boss" where this cat was and she told me he is hiding under the chair.
So I had to go see, yup hiding under a recliner I found this
Cat
he was just laying there until he saw our other cat Riley then he did this
Cat2
immediately the two boys (cats) started singing a cat melody. Meeeeeeeooooooowwwwww, Yodddddlle, Hisssssss.

Our old dog was bouncing around the living room whining, he wants a new playmate. Boris fortunately loves cats.

Well before we ate Pam fed the cats first putting the bowls too close and the chorus began again until I separated their dishes. The two cats wolfed their food, I think they were each paranoid the other was going to try to eat theirs if the left any.

After dinner my wife went to her parents house to feed and be with her Dad for a while. As I was finishing the dishes I heard my daughter Katie singing when I went into the living room I found this

Katie and Cat

Folks, Pam told me when I got home that she had called the local papers and placed ads in the "Lost and Found" as any animal lover would. I do not think this fella is going to be leaving us for a long long time. I just turned around (as I was typing this) and saw this.

Ben and Cat

The little fella is very loving and has taken to the kids like glue. I kind of hope he was "Lost" and can be returned to a loving family, but if he was discarded we always have room. Know what I mean?

The kids are calling him "Percy", I am only calling him "Cat" until the newspaper ads are finished running.

Hi Carole, How are things in Joisey? Thanks for sending us more rain neighbor.

Cat seems to be accepting the fact that Boris wants to be his buddy.

Riley on the other hand....... Just went looking for him and found him crashed on his Mommy's side of the bed

Riley Crashing

as soon as the camera flashed he stretched which in Riley Talk translates to "Put down that thing and rub my belly knave!"

O.K. rub me GIT-R-DONE

I did and he followed me back here sniffing Cat as he walked by.

Gotta go. Good night all.

Tom, do you remember what I said after Dorrie cat died? That we weren't looking for another cat because we thought one would find us! I think you might have found our cat but it's okay, I'll let you keep him! LOL

Well, Tom... it sure looks like percy aka cat aka shoe is already used to your house!!
Question: should I keep my fingers crossed for:
A. finding the owner
B. or like you suggested for Cyndes bird... no owner will show up and cat can stay with your family
I will do whatever you please. I'm not so difficult

Morning all, Was too tired to respond when I got home last night.

Rusty, Yup, Lap Cat he was in Pam's lap when I got home. Book came Buddy hope to start reading it tonight. Thanks!

Sally, Thanks, being called an animal magnet is a compliment. Our household enjoys animals, except for skunks, they are cute at a distance, just don't want one on my lap or pillow.

Diana, "Cat" is sweet. Last night Pam told me that she and our oldest are calling him Wilbur after the pig in Charlotte's web. The younger kids want to call him Buddy because he is so friendly. I don't have to call him anything, he is always there.

"B" please;-{)} My Katie is a bit hyperactive. Because of that cats have avoided her. Not this guy.
Katie and Cat

Carol, Did you know you Joisey folks have started something. Now Rusty is sending rain our way as well.

Chardonnay. Aaaaack, gag, haaaaack. Wish you would have told me about hairballs. Tell your Mommy that every house/lap needs a cat. Just keep the doors closed so those mean coyotes don't get to your cat or you either. You are a cute lady, I bet my buddy Boris would be willing to share his pillow with you.

All, speaking of Boris, he and "Cat" are getting along. Last night when I went to kiss my wife good night, "Cat" was still in her lap and Boris was sitting next to her nose-to-nose with "Cat".

Riley on the other hand is being a DELETE still. This morning when I started the coffee "Cat" was sprawled out by my feet. Riley came in to say hello to me (or maybe he just wanted to be fed), anyway, when he saw "Cat" by my feet he turned around and walked away growling. If he keeps this up his name might get changed to "Anti" like anti-social.

Have a great day all.

Looking at all of the great Houdini/Peaches photos makes me want birds again. We gave our only bird a Cockatiel "Myrtle" away to one of our neighbors because she had become entertainment to our brood of cats (four at that time).

Last night I got to thinking (maybe I shouldn't do that) and thought about getting a Cockatoo (sp?). My oldest brother used to have one and I remember that bird "Bianca" ruled his house.

This is a photo of my wife with Bianca.

Pam and Bianca

Cynde, Tell Dylon he is not alone. Everytime Bianca sat on my shoulders he shat on my shoulders.

Thanks Diana!

Pam and I went home to check on the cats at lunch. The actually touched noses with no hissing.

On the way back to work Pam told me that the cat found ad runs out Saturday. I told her to take "Cat" to the vets tomorrow and if anyone does call to lie and say it had already been claimed.

She said that we will wait till the ad runs out. Guess I just want to start calling it something other than "Cat". I like the sound of "Our Cat"

twirl Woohoo! Carole and Tom, BoxerBob hits the PO every day to check the mailbox and he makes sure we pack up the books and get them out FAST!

book I hope you enjoy the little stories in there - I think my favorite is Jane Shaw. Those pioneer women were a tough breed.

dyslexia I also love the gravestones with misteaks engraved in them. Nobody's prefect!

announcing The news on the book is getting out - thanks for helping us spread the word. BoxerBob just applied to Barnes and Noble - they require a copy of the book and about ten pages of information before they'll consider it for sale. I never would have filled out all those forms - it's good to have a business manager. LOL We'll know in three to four MONTHS.

thank you I never would have written it without all your encouragement, buddies. Oh, and all the practice I got here *composing* messages made it easier to get my thoughts down on (virtual) paper. Never underestimate the power of Bonaire Talk!

Rusty - Buddy,

So glad to hear your book is getting noticed. Way to go!!!

Let us make a deal. You continue your literary career in moderation, i.e., when working on your next project you check in at least once a day. We missed you this past winter/spring. Well I know I sure missed the Dadz and pet stories.

But you know how hard it is to pull yourself away from BT. :-) I get in here and next thing I know it's time for supper. LOL But yes, I think that next time I can take my time - this time I wasn't really sure I could do it til I done it!

Yes I know. Fortunately (or unfortunately) it is raining cats and dogs here. That means I will have lots of time to check in on B.T.

Cute gif. What do you use to create them?

catsndogs I didn't create the MANCAT! :-) It was a huge animation though - about the size of the original photo above - I shrunk it down online at gifworks. You can go there - I hope, I haven't been there in six months - and crop and rotate and add text and scale and reduce colors until you can get a big animation down to a 50k file size.

animate

Which doesn't answer your question, does it? Photoshop has been shipping with a program called Image Ready where you can start with three or four doctored (or not) images and put them into the "flip book" format and save as a gif. However, I wouldn't buy the whole PS package just to get it.

think I know that Annie uses another program. I can't remember which one it is. She starts from scratch. I know that I have something I used to use that was shareware. I have however gone flatline in the memory department right now and can't recall the name.

annie Do you remember the first one I shared with the Zippergirls?

No rain here right now - maybe the dry stuff is heading your way?

So I think this is Saturday's thread??? Just got back from our USCGA monthly meeting, and we have the District Raft Up down at Baby Beach in Dana Point this afternoon...so just checking in...

Well, Peaches is a little under the weather, not chirping much, and not the bouncy bird...Michael went to the pet stor and got some medicine and a heat lamp and that seems to be perking her up a bit...I think maybe she may have picked something up when she was out in the wild there...so keep your fingers crossed gang!

Our oldest doxy now has an absessed tooth...Michael and Dylon just took her to the emergency vet...I'm packing all the dive gear and cameras for our trip to Catalina tomorrow...as they say...live is not static!

Hope the vet doesn't offer a root canal and cap and crown. That happened in the seventies when our cat had an abscessed tooth....we passed on the root canal, etc. and had the tooth pulled/extracted....tough kitty survived just fine! The vet was telling us it would affect his sinuses, etc., etc. Nope, not this kitty!

Good luck, Cynde. Carole

I think it is very difficult to tell male from female lovebirds. That's how we wound up with a *breeding pair* of two males. They may offer to do a feather test or an invasive probe test alien but you really don't need to know that badly.

Hope Peaches is better today!
