This is the beginning of the New Year for lots of folks - back to the salt mines!



It's been a weird week for me - imagine me with no PC! LOL For the first day or so I wandered around the house in a daze occasionally coming up to sit in my chair and look at the empty space beside my monitor.

Then I got into it - finished a book I started in November and read two more. Slept late. Did some long overdue chores and counted the minutes til my PC came home.



I have about 500 emails to dig thru but it's great to be back online. I have a new motherboard which included a new processor - four times faster, new modem, 6 USB2 ports (now I can offload the camera pix myself instead of having BB do it for me downstairs) and lots of space on my reformatted C: drive. The USB ports also mean I can use a scanner my Dad gave us a couple years ago when he got a new one. Sweet.

I also had to get a new keyboard - so I got a mini keyboard - it's so cute! I never used the numpad so this is a great improvement - more room for my mousepad and water bottle.



I had all my important stuff backed up on CD and zips so I didn't lose anything I needed - but with C: wiped out I have to reinstall almost every program - all the Adobe products, Norton, Webshots (had all my collections backed up, whew), and who knows what else. I keep finding things I need to install then I reboot and start again until I hit another roadblock.

I lost my address book, tho. And ALL my links and that's a drag - I had them all backed up - on my C: drive. Phht. Not good enough, believe me. All my passowrds and usernames are gone so I'm slowly working my way back to the usual haunts and trying to log in. A small loss tho - considering what a nightmare this could have been.

Whew!!! Glad you are all right. I was beginning to think I had better pop over and check personally on you.

I was worried about you, buddy! I told BB about your biopsy and we said a little prayer for you. Add up all the hugs and best wishes from your buddies here and it HAD to be good news for you.

Hey all! Looks like today has been kinda slow on here. I'm glad you're back Rusty. Hope everyone is having a great New Years...I've just started plannin my next trip to Bonaire...I gotta meet Jake and Linda next trip....
