It's...

Tweety Bird Day

Tweety debuted in "A Tale of Two Kitties" in 1942 - and first said his famous line, "I tawt I taw a puddy tat." He was in two more cartoons before he was teamed with Sylvester in "Tweetie Pie" (1947). That cartoon won an Oscar for Warner Bros., and a winning combination of characters was born. In 1952, the pair got their own comic book, and in 1998, they were on a U.S. postage stamp. anything

Today is the 2nd anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy!

Let us all take a moment today to remember those who lost their lives that day and those who have lost their lives since fighting terrorists in the world.

Below is a copy of what Meryl had posted last year and it still holds true today!!

As the soot and dirt and ash rained down,
We became one color.
As we carried each other down the stairs of the burning building
We became one class.
As we lit candles of waiting and hope
We became one generation.
As the firefighters and police officers fought their way into the inferno
We became one gender.
As we fell to our knees in prayer for strength,
We became one faith.
As we whispered or shouted words of encouragement,
We spoke one language!
As we gave our blood in lines a mile long,
We became one body.
As we mourned together the great loss
We became one family.
As we cried tears of grief and loss
We became one soul.
As we retell with pride of the sacrifice of heroes
We became one people.

We are:
One color
One class
One generation
One gender
One faith
One language
One body
One family
One soul
One people

We ARE the power of one....
And together WE are strong!

Thanks to everyone for letting me become a part of this group - you all are truly special!!! Hopefully with groups like this we can help spread more understanding around the world!!!!

After directory assistance gave me my boyfriend's new phone
number, I dialed him -- and got a woman.

"Is Mike there?" I asked confused. teenager

"Umm, he's in the shower," she responded.

"Please tell him his girlfriend called," I said and hung up.

When he didn't return the call, I dialed again. This time a
man answered. "This is Mike," he said.

"You're not my boyfriend!" I exclaimed.

"I know," he replied. "That's what I've been trying to tell
my wife for the past half-hour!" phgy

Mary, thanks for posting that. I'm not watching the news on purpose this morning as I don't want to have to watch the tragedy over and over again on the TV. Just can't take it, to much. Glad they are having a memorial at Ground Zero though. That will be nice.

Annie, didn't know that about Tweety! Velly interesting! I am exhausted. We had an Editor meeting last night and didn't get finished until 8:30PM. Michael must have turned the alarm clock off and he called at 7 wondering why I was still asleep! "Cause the alarm clock didn't wake me up!" LOL!

A funny that was sent to me today!!

ME 'MUDDER'

When me prayers were poorly said
Who tucked me in me widdle bed
And spanked me till me arse was wed
baby.jpg

Me Mudder

Who took me from me cozy cot
And put me on the ice cold pot
And made me pee if I could not
baby2.jpg

Me Mudder

And when the morning light would come
And in me crib me dribbled some
Who wiped me tiny widdle bum
baby3.jpg

Me Mudder

Who would me hair so neatly part
And hug me gently to her heart
Who sometimes squeezed me till me fart

baby4.jpg
Me Mudder

Who looked at me with eyebrows knit
And nearly have a king size fit
When in me Sunday pants me s***
baby5.jpg

Me Mudder

When at night her bed did squeak
Me raised me head to have a peek
Who yelled at me to go to sleep

Me FUDDER!!

LMHO Mary. I love those pictures. I pinched the last one.

Trev is trying to network the computers here and it isn't working. We have the master computer working from the hub just fine, but the second computer won't pick up the internet for some reason. Anyone out there know about this stuff. Annie B.

Well, fellow BTers, this will be my last post for a bit more than two weeks. My mother-in-law arrives this afternoon, and then she, Lorinda, our niece Barbara, and I head off to Kenai, Alaska for the annual Pioneers of Alaska convention. We leave early Saturday morning. Have a lot to do between now and then. Going to drive up and back.

See you all later!

Have fun Dan. Very funny Mary.

Speaking of weird days, I'm very much regretting my comments about the normals taking over. Let's see today is 9/11 and I am being followed by a black helicopter. I went to the store earlier and as I got on the highway I noticed a Black Hawk helicopter hovering by the ramp. Pretty strange so I go off to the grocery store 4 miles away, as I come out there's the helicopter flying over me. Back in the car and travel 20 miles to the dive shop to get some tanks filled. When I come out of the store there's that Black Hawk flying over again. I got a couple of pictures but in the interest of national security I'll keep them for now.

I off to make an aluminum foil hat, because I hear another helicopter.

Cecil..very funny....can't wait to hear the update....We have a landing strip behind us...one of the only private landing strips left in NJ if you can believe it...(and we bought next to it) they fly the over the ocean banner planes out of it in the summer. When we moved in I had to have a talk with the owner cause the planes were coming so close to the house...he was great and since the talk they stopped..This morning 9/11 at 8:30 am these two planes were doing nose dives over our street,,,coming real close to all the houses....I was screaming for Steve to come and look..I called the owner and he said they weren't his planes. We find out later in the day it was the township "dusting" for skeeters.....Ya think they would pick a better day and time!

Meryl, you bought next to a landing strip? Do they only fly planes during the day? I agree, you would think that they would have picked a better day. Nothing like freaking out the neighborhood! Are you sure they weren't dusting for terrorists?

Who's complaining????

You wanna talk "air strip"?

Just look it up : Vliegbasis Woensdrecht, should be easy for the Americans amongst us :-) Your Government "parked" some Nukes there a while ago.( some say : they never left :-( )

Anyway , picture this : we bought the house , leaving a very "loud" neighbourhood.
First day : I open the backdoor of the house ; and for the next 2 F%%#$@*&^&* minutes I am looking straight up the F%$#&**^%$ afterburner of a F16 fighterplane making his startthrough take off of the airbase !!!
And , please, ... believe me , that is loud !!!!

Was I disapointed/mad/cursing??? I think so !

Appears to be the military national fighterpilot trainingschool just around the corner.

Next week I was back in my old neighbourhood picking up some last items from our former house , TOTAL MAYHEM !! only then I realised what a LOUD neigbourhood it has been all along!!!

And now ??? Yeah , they can "play" on a tuesday and a thursday , who cares???

I think we might need them pretty bad in the near future :-(
