A little something to wake up to..

A thing of beauty is a joy for ever
Its loveliness increases; it will never
Pass into nothingness; but still will keep
A bower quiet for us, and a sleep
Full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing.
Therefore, on every morrow, are we wreathing
A flowery band to bind us to the earth,
Spite of despondence, of the inhuman dearth
Of noble natures, of the gloomy days,
Of all the unhealthy and o'er-darken'd ways
Made for our searching: yes, in spite of all,
Some shape of beauty moves away the pall
From our dark spirits...

John Keats

Have a nice Sunday all...

xx

Not quite a poem, this is an Irish blessing, which I really like.

rainbow

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.

Good morning my friends from the UK and my friends who will be joining us later from all over. Last night was a special one for the BT'ers from Dallas-Ft. Worth! We gathered for dinner and fellowship and what a lovely group of people! A wide range of ages, varied backgrounds, but with much in common; Bonaire Lovers All! It lasted from 5:30 to nearly 9:00. And we are planning to meet again in the near future. Thanks to Greta for organizing it all. I think she has a report with pictures planned for us later. We took some photos also that we will share.

A very pleasant evening.........

tree I think that I shall never see
A poem as lovely as a tree

mary But I think this one comes close...

Mary had a little lamb,
Its fleece was slightly grey,
It didn't have a father,
just some borrowed DNA.

It sort of had a mother,
Though the ovum was on loan,
It was not so much a lambkin,
as a little lamby clone.

And soon it had a fellow clone,
And soon it had some more,
They followed her to school one day,
all cramming through the door.

It made the children laugh and sing,
The teachers found it droll,
There were too many lamby clones,

No other could control the sheep,
Since their programs didn't vary,
So the scientists resolved it all,
by simply cloning Mary.

But now they feel quite sheepish,
Those scientists unwary,
One problem solved, but what to do,
with Mary, Mary, Mary . . .

lamb Hmm - missed a line when I reformatted it:

I think that I will never see,
A poem lovely as a tree.
Perhaps unless the billboards fall,
I'll never see a tree at all.

The Dentist Pulled My Tooth Out
by Kenn Nesbitt.

The dentist pulled my tooth out,
and he thought it was such fun,
he grabbed his pliers
and dental priers
and pulled another one.

"Yippee! Hooray! What awesome fun!"
he shouted out with glee.
He grinned a grin
then went back in
and pulled out number three.

Then number four and number five
and numbers six and seven
were followed by
a cheerful cry
of "Eight! Nine! Ten! Eleven!"

He took a few more from the top
and some from underneath;
he yanked them fast
until at last
he'd pulled out all my teeth.

Without my teeth I cannot chew;
I just eat soup and mush.
But don't be sad.
I'm kind of glad--
I'll never have to brush!
