Good morning Rusty,
I did not even notice the misspelling - now who is asleep?

Is everyone sleeping in this morning? or off to an early start on the weekend?

Diana - I hope that your Dad has a better day today and good news about him leaving the ICU.

Brittany - Good luck on the driving test today.
Mary

Rusty,
I am into drugs!!!! pillshypo.jpg

I help my clients work through the drug development process (they create the drug - I help them go through the steps with trials and regulatory process in order to get it approved with the FDA). Basically work through the development plan and make sure that they can do all of the steps necessary - cannot ensure that it will be approved - needs to work and be safe - but I can help them understand what they need to do to prove it.

Hope this makes sense.

The company a work for is called a CRO (clinical research organization) and we specialize in running clinical trials for pharmaceutical companies (that is the main portion of our work). My portion of the business expands on that and helps the small virtual companies and non-US companies work the the process in the US (very small piece of our business but to me much more exciting)
Mary

I love drugs! drugs Let me rephrase that. I am a fan of the pharmaceutical companies. I had chronic migraines (24/7/365) since I was a kid and the only reprieve I got was medicinal. Fiorinal kept me moving until Imitrex came on the market. That drug was a miracle and brought complete relief in minutes from the most intense pain.

head

After a couple visits to a migraine clinic at UMass Medical Center in Worcester, MA I'm migraine-free - 2-1/2 years now. The docs found a balance of prophylactic drugs - non-narcotic LOL - that got my brain chemicals working properly. The funny thing is they aren't *migraine* medicine but a combo of an anti-depressant, a beta blocker and B/P medicine.

happy You can imagine what a difference it's made in my life.

Hear Hear...I'm with you Rusty! Glucophage has changed my life DRAMATICALLY! I was telling Michael that now that I have been on it for 3 months, my body is finally functioning like it SHOULD, and I can't believe I lived 17 years feeling the way I did...yeah for good docs too...only took me going through 4 to find one that actually listens to what the patient is telling them! Oh, and I've also lost 15 pounds since I have been on my wonder drug:-)

I've only got one hawaiian shirt and I got it in the Bahamas. shirt I think they just change the labels. It makes for a good golf shirt, to bad I don't golf. Usually I get t-shirts from local environmental groups or art coops. I have some really cool whale and turtle shirts. A couple I have worn to much and now can't get them replaced WAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Oh, I really wish I hadn't received this recipe from About.com today:

clint Wowza - that is a gorgeous palm tree palm and sunset motif.

scout I'm with you on the T-shirts. I have dozens with reptiles and fish on them mostly. They are great souvenirs. I wore them as my *uniform* as the museum aquarist. When I did demonstrations for schools and the public I always picked out a flashy one and the kids got a kick out of it. Way more people-friendly than khaki *Ranger Andy* costume. :-) Being the first female aquarist let me make some of my own rules regarding proper dress.

hawaii Lately I've been hitting the local Salvation Army and you wouldn't belive how many excellent Hawaiian shirts they have for $2-$4 on the racks. Takes a keen sense of style (hahahaha!) to snap them up. I like the fact that they float a bit on ya - cooler when it's muggy out.

I have one that I inherited from my grandfather. My uncle sent it to him when he was stationed in Hawaii in the 40's. It has real coconut buttons. A real classic.

Hi everyone. I'm afraid I got stuck into Clint's copter game and couldn't put it down. LOL.

Rusty. Your recipe reminds me of when we drove up into the Troudos mountains last week. There was a guy there who had made his own peanut brittle. It was absolutely yummy. Annie B.

soda Anyone try the new PEPSI Vanilla? I tried the Diet Vanilla Coke but it has a yucky aftertaste I couldn't get used to. The Pepsi Diet Vanilla seems a little better if it's really cold, but you'd be better off getting vanilla ice cream syrup and squirting a little bit into Diet Coke/Pepsi when you pop a can.

Rusty, geez...talk about sugar overload! LOL! When I used to eat sweets before the glucophage, I would get sick...nauseated...now I can actually have a cookie once in awhile and not pay for it (well, my thighs pay for it)...the hardest part was giving up all my carbs...I went through MAJOR pasta and bread withdrawls...I have gotten over the hump though and I think the only pasta I have had in the last couple of months was when I was on Bonaire...can't pass up pasta at Caprricios!

Mary, I look for your new drug approvals so I can put them up on our website! Going through the drug approval process is a BIG project, that's for sure!

Clint : you're gonna love this :

when I was in goldsmith-school ( about age 17-22)
we had a cocktail party in a studenthouse (I think you call it different); 4 guys from two different school classes.
So what happens : JP and I told our guests that it was going to be a "tropical cocktailparty" and the other two guys told their guessts it was going to be a "black tie cocktailparty".

Just one week before the party , 50 guests and a shocking amount of liquor:-) , we discovered this little hick up :-) !!!

We decided not to tell anybody and dressed ourselves with a white smoking button down shirt with "butterfly tie" and a really nice big old hawaiian grass skirt .!!!

I can asure you it was hilarious !!
The music was devide into blocks : Vivaldi and beach boys !!!
One of the guests used to be a bartender , so we ended up with 13 different cocktails that ofcourse all had to be tasted.

Aaaaaaahhhh , happy days :-)
