We are making our first trip to Bonaire next week.
Where might we see spotted eagle rays while snorkeling?

Every day at site just before Sorobon on the windward side. Need to be strong swimmer since wind is blowing quite hard now.

saw a spotted eagle ray and a turtle on the same dive at salt pier...or actually travelling from salt pier to the mooring just north of salt pier.

Larry, where abouts at the Divi? We will be there in a few weeks and would like to catch a glimpse of "him/her" while we are there, if possible. Thanks. Carole

Carole, we got in for a snorkel from the dive hut pier, and we swam out towards the buoy. As we swam out the ray passed in front of us right to left (i.e. north Bonaire to south Bonaire) and swam at roughly the buoy distance from the water's edge. It swam slowly, it was quite close to us so would have been aware of us I guess, but it didn't stop.

I have no idea if that's a regular route for it, i.e. if it's as regular as the barracuda under the dive hut pier at about 5 p.m. most days!

Hello,

Is there anyone else traveling alone perhaps interested in night snorkeling? I'll be in Bonaire between the dates of May 20th to 28th.

On a side note, I've gotten a lot of great information about snorkeling areas from BT. Is there a decent map that I can buy in Bonaire or should I buy one before arriving?

Thanks,
Annie
