Hi,
We will be new comers to bonaire arriving Saturday, Oct. 9 for 1 week. We noticed on the Bonaire reef cam that the water visibility in that location was not good. I am hoping the weather has not messed up the visibility all over. We are only snorkellers. Should we be concerned?
Thanks

Hi Larry, welcome to BonaireTalk. The vis will be what it is, but I suspect the wind reversals will not last and things will return to their normal pristine state before too long. Hope that is the case for your visit. But as others have said, 50 feet is still great vis. Just not the normal par for Bonaire. Certainly nothing to be concerned about.

Hi, Larry...

First, you are not JUST a snorkeler -- you are one of many of us who are not divers but who love floating on the surface and being stunned by the beauty below us. The opportunities for snorkelling in Bonaire seem endless.

Give a good look at a trip on the Woodwind or a special trip with Renee (type in "Renee Bonaire" and " woodwind bonaire" for more details).

Hope you love the place. My wife and I will be making our 15th trip to the island in February...

Thanks for the input. We will stop worrying and get back to looking forward to the trip.

Roy
I, of course have not been there but suspect that the vis depicted on the underwater cams is accurate. Just look at the huge gully worn in Eden beach. I think it's safe to say the same thing has happened elsewhere. All that stuff will surely affect the vis.
