1. Would someone please let me know the coordinates on Google Earth for Wayaka II

I think it is somewhere on the attached photo.

Is the site easy to find? Is the site marked. Yellow Rock ? Sign?

Easy Entry?

Sorry, I forgot that image files need to be under 50K.

William, Wayaka II is represented by the little black dots on your pic right above the pin mark. Well marked and prob our favorite snorkel site on the island. There are some stairs down to the water and pure fine sand entry. Enjoy :-)

William,
Wayaka I is also very good and is marked with a sign, at least it was last year. It is just north of Wayaka II and inside the jetty that sticks out and protects it. It is my favorite spot but Wayaka II and III are great also. Just come early and spend the day doing all three.

Have fun!
Deana and Bill

Hello Ken & Ruth and Deana and Bill:

Thanks for your inputs. I think it is time for me to plan another trip to Bonaire.

I have a few follow-up questions . As you can see I rotated and cropped the Google Earth image and added identifying letters [A] through [F] to it.

[A] is, I assume, the road that you drive in on to get to any of the Wayaka sites [I, II, or III]

[D] is, I believe, Boka Slagbaai

Are [E], [ F], and [C] Wayaka I, III and II respectively ?

If not can you identify them for me, Please.

Where is the stairway down to the beach at Wayaka II ? Just to the left of [C]?

Parking?

B is where we parked and the stairs are just above the F. The E should be moved to the right. It is the light blue area all within the little cove but you would enter across from the tip of the jetty. You can just swim from the beach area F over to the left and take a little time to find your way through like finding your way through a maze. It was fun and go as far toward the E as you can. It gets shallow in that corner. Where you have the C is Wayaka III and you can park up at the end of the road and walk down the long slope but I prefer to just swim down to it and explore the whole area and leave my stuff and lunch and water at the F little beach. That is where as soon as we entered the water 2 large angel fish greeted us and followed us around. It was a great day!

Bill
The pictures on Google Earth give a very good view of what it looks like, and they're pretty much in the right place.

1. Have any of you snorkeled from Wayaka [E,F,C] to Boka Slagbaai [D]?
Google earth shows it to be about 1/4 of a mile by a straight line snorkel -- some 2 miles+ by road. On the Google Earth picture that area [C to D]looks very very interesting.

Perhaps their are currents, multiple dead-ends, or swells?
Bill

I'm beginning to think that someone is "paying" those two angel fish to be greeters! Or maybe they take turns, two at a time! Although getting to Wayaka II requires lots of determination, it is worth it, right?

We did 2 days at Wayaka III last April, it was amazing. You will be greated by the friendly angel fish, guaranteed! There is a nice little beach with shade under the rocks, if you go on a weekday or a non holiday there won't be as many people there. I guess you could snorkel from Wayaka to Boca Slag. but you will have so much snorkeling right there with all of the different chanels of coral, it could keep you busy for hours. Have fun, we'll be there in 4 weeks.
