My wife & I will be arriving in 53 days...13 hours... 29 min... & 30 seconds (not that I'm counting) We have been lurking on here for several months and have learned allot from you folks. Thank you very much. We thought that we saw a post about a coral bloom happening during our stay Sept 27- Oct 5th.does anyone have any further info on this. We are snorkel folks and have practiced our favorite hobby on 12 different caribbean islands and 3 in Hawaii to date.However we will be doing our first night snorkel in Bonaire (thanks to you folks and the many messages reassuring my Mrs that it is safe and jaws will not eat her) We are staying at the Divi which from your posts appears like it will be more than adequate.Any additional tips on the coral bloom subject will be appreciated.

Welcome to BT, Jim and Vicki. I stayed at Divi this past May with my husband. He did scuba off their boats, while I snorkeled from the Divi beach. I absolutely loved it, tons of marine life to see right there.

Since you are just about ready to depart for Bonaire, I felt it necessary to give you fair warning!

My wife and I have also snorkeled many caribbean islands. Also Maui and The Big Island. BE PREPARED to fall in love with Bonaire, look for a place to buy and not bother going anywhere else to snorkel.

Consider yourselves warned!
