Hi, we'll be diving in Bonaire late July. Our 7yr old snorkels and we'd like him to experience a night snorkel while we're there. Any suggestions on spots that are good for a night snorkel and still close to shore? Don't want to take him out very far at night. We're staying next to Belmar apts, so not sure if there will be anything to see just off the dock. Thanks!

I suggest the Divi Flamingo. You can do it on your own or with Renee. It has easy access to the water, and easy entry and egress. Also good lighting, and there is lots to see.

The photos at the link below were all taken within a 1 one-hour time period. Renee will provide lights [no extra charge] and she finds critters that I never would on my own.

We have had several great night snorkel trips at an unnamed site just north of windsock. there is a small yellow building next to the coast. Parking is easy. there is a large break in the shore coral that is easy to find. also, the lights from the fuel station will let you know where to get out at night. good cup coral blooms and lots of fish. I would suggest going during daylight first and then going at night so as to be oriented to the location. we entered at the coral break and then go north around the bend, stop and then return back to the entry. You can also go south as far as the fuel pier and Windsock, but the northern section had more coral and fish.

Enjoy!!

Kimberly, Bari Reef:-) They have the reef balls toward the North end, and it would be cool to see who hangs out there at night:-) Plus with the pier and restaurant there, you might get a glimpse of Charlie:-)

Blemar night snorkeling is good as well, lots of stuff near the dock.
