I will coming for the first time to Bonaire July 30th through Aug.7th. Traveling solo and looking for snorkeling buddies and dinner company.

Welcome to BT! I think you are gonna love Bonaire.
We will have already been and gone when you get there. Hope you make connections. We dive, But Bonaire is condusive(sp) to solo snorkeling.

I am so tempted to try to get there. I was in Bonaire last Oct. but I sure would love to go again.
I am addicted. I have been there 7 times. I am looking into the possibility.

Thanks for responding. No I haven't found anyone yet. I will be staying at the Divi. I am 59 and I am quite adventurous. Get your fins and snorkel and let's go!

Suzy, I hope you end up having a snorkel buddy. But I did want to tell you, I stayed at Divi in May and often snorkeled around that area by myself and it was incredible. Enjoy, wished I were coming back with you. Divi was great.

April, Thanks for the info. No snorkeling buddies yet, but I know I will be okay with traveling around to different spots by myself. I can hardly wait to be there and underwater in the colorful and silent world of the reefs!

Suzy, Maybe now is a good time to get certified in scuba! You won't need a buddy as your instructor will fill! When my wife(diane)got certified(9yago)there was a lady 71 going through the same class... Ron

Hey Suzy, Denise here.
My and my husband just got back in March from there. We rented a truck and went to many of the sites. If you haven't been there yet, I know it is no problem to be going to most if not all of the spots listed in the dive/snorkel book solo.

But after being in the water up to 6 hours at a crack, I did buckle and get a full wetsuit. My shorty wasn't keeping me warm enough (I'm little).

Anyway, I'd be flying out of Colorado, so let me check airfares and see if I can hook up with you there. I see you're staying at Divi?

I'm going to Bonaire for my first trip July 19 and will stay there a couple of weeks and then go to Curacao. So I could probably meet up with you. I am a 56 year old woman traveling solo and I love to snorkel--(I've been to many Caribbean islands). I'm not sure where I am staying yet. I could look you up at Divi.

I will be arriving at Divi on Tues. July 29th in the nightime. I would love to have some company for snorkeling. I have been to many islands also in the Caribbean and I am looking forward to Bonaire. Keep in touch and Happy 4th of July!

Suzy check with the dive shop they may know of someone who wants a snorkeling partner. Many of the dive shops allow snorkelers on the dive boats which is nice because you can snorkel while others dive and the boat always has someone on board. I did this on at least one of our trips before I learned to dive and it is fun watching the divers below and how silly we can look sometimes.
Hope you find someone and I know you will enjoy the island.
We will be on island Aug 9 to Aug 12 staying at Golden Reef Inn. We are also a little older, I am 62 and David is 51, maybe we will run into each other.
