I am a fit 52 year old female, who is looking for another female to snorkle with while the rest of my family dives. I will have access to a truck, so I can help with transportation to snorkle spots around the island. I'd also be interested in kayaking to Klein Bonaire, and visiting the Washington-Slagbaai Park.If anyone is interested in "buddying up" for a few days, let me know.

ah wish I would have known. I just got back yesterday and it was awesome. The winds prevented us from kayaking over to KB, as we took the water taxi. From no name we actually snorkeled over to Sampler and then swam back and went back out to the second buoy, Knife, and that swim back kicked our butts. Three hours and I was real happy I didn't kayak on this trip. Too much current.
But, Did Slagbaai and had to pass on Playa Benge due to the rough waters. Did Wayaka 1,2 and 3 which were great and snorkeled from Wayaka over to Boca Slagbaai where the HUGE angelfish (about 18") came right up to our masks. Where are you staying while there? I'm wanting to get back there but was thinking maybe July? We had unusual wind and clouds last week, but the snorkeling was primo. We bought the Bonaire Shore Diving Made Easy which was a must have, and hit all the excellent sites while there. After day 5 had to get full wet suits, because the shorty didn't work in the 78 to 80 degree water. Too chilly. Even bought a beanie that velcros under the chine. I looked like some sort of Russian lady with a babushka but I was happy as a clam with the last day being in the water 6 hours!! woo hoo.
Is this your first trip???
Denise

Denise, Thanks for your excellent details about your trip.Yes, this will be our first trip to Bonaire, although we have been diving/snorkeling at Grand Cayman, St.Croix, and Belize. My husband has been dying to try the shore diving on Bonaire, which was the incentive behind this trip. I know that you're always at the mercy of Mother Nature as far as winds go; we experienced that on our trip to St.Croix; just have to go with the flow! We'll be staying at "Casa Iguana", a house next to Belmar, so the rest of the family will probably rent dive tanks from the dive shop at Belmar.I have already ordered the Bonaire Shore Diving Made Easy book after reading other blogs, so hopefully that will help. Thanks again for your response, and hopefully I will be able to find another fellow snorkler to buddy up with for awhile.Kim

Hi Kim, thanks for the shout.
Yes I thought I was going on a trip that week to the States, but as of today it looks like that may be canceled. Ooooooh I want to go back in the water.

Hmmmm, maybe I could sleep on a cot???
I can cook (hint hint).

If this is your first snorkel trip to B, you will love it there.

Oil Slick Leap was a favorite, along with Andrea, Windsock (only when the cruise ships aren't in but there is a schedule for them somewhere). Red Beryl North and Margate Bay, Karpata, Tolo, Do all the excellent ones in the book.

Didn't hear of Casa Iguana, just Coco Palm Gardens, Golden Reef, Buddy, Capt Don's. But that doesn't mean a thing. I'm just learning Papiamentu.

How many are going on your trip?
