My wife and invested in Lycra dive skins in preparation for our upcoming trip. Mostly for sun protection, but also in case we encounter any stinging critters. My question: do people normally wear a bathing suit under these things?

you'll want to take off the skin between dives to tan or refresh or whatever...a suit would be recommended:-)

We always wear a suit under our skins :-) Our skins are partially on with arms tied at our waist until we get to where we're going.

I wear a diveskin for sun protection, and rarely wear anything under it. Not sure why you would, unless you planned on taking it off to go swimming.

Mike,
We just returned from our snorkeling trip March 1 - 8. We found that the only reason that we stopped each outing was that we got cold, not tired and decided that next year we were going to get skins. We did our first night snorkel and really wished we had a skin then until the beauty of what we saw made us forget that we were cold. Have a wonderful time.

Jayne,
Where did you do your night snorkel?

Ron,

We went with Renee. She took us to Divi Flamingo. We started at their southern-most pier and ended up at their northern-most pier. It was amazing! The coral was in bloom. We saw lobster, even a slipper lobster. Lots of fish, bioluminescence. My very favorite were the long spiny sea urchins with the tiny shrimp hidden inside. The eyes of the shrimp glowed making the sea urchin look like a Christmas tree!

Sounds awesome, maybe I can get my wife to try a night snorkel next week.
