I'm a long time Bonaire diver, something around 35 yrs. But I can't answer this question for my friends who will be visiting via Cruise ship in February.... I'd like them to be able to get to Klein and do some snorkeling. Who would they contact in advance to schedule a snorkeling day or half day or a few hours on Klein??? Thank you in advance for you kind help... Be there in April and I can't wait..
Bill

It would depend how long the ship is in port. The Woodwind is a trimaran that has two guided snorkel stops and one is a drift on Kline.Snacks, lunch, drinks, beer and wine served while sailing. There web site is ww.woodwindbonaire.com It sails from 9 to 1 or 2 in the afternoon.
There is also a water taxi that will take you out to Kline but I don't personally know about that.
If she didn't want to go to Kline she could do some guided snorkels with Renee. Her website is reneesnorkeltrips.com.

Mickey
I think the added cost that the cruise operators add on, make it more expensive than it should be. But thank you.

Darlene, thank you for the web sites.... I'm wondering if anyone has a contact for the water taxi the one that's painted like a cow if think... I'm not sure of their schedule yet... but your response gets me started...

Thank you both and anyone else with ideas, please chime in...
B

Bill: I have visited Bonaire twice by cruise ship and on another occasion spent a week snorkeling there. If Renee is not available and the Woodwind schedule falls outside of your friends time on island I suggest taking the ship arranged water taxi tour to Klein.

Yes, it costs more than a direct booking, but the water taxi is likely to be sold out to the cruise ship and hence not available to purchase on shore. Speculation on my part. But, what a bummer that would be.

I believe that the cruise ship arranged Water Taxi trip takes you to No-Name Beach and drops you off on the beach with whatever beach goodies you want to take along -- Good water shoes, suntan lotion, lots of water and a towel are a start. They can leave these on the beach and for a few dollar extra I believe that the taxi will take them up-current to Eno Reef and drop them in deep water. As you know, its a short swim to the outer edge of the reef and the 45 minute or so drift back to No-Name Beach is not to be missed.

Tell them to bring your own snorkel gear, and some spare dollars [in case there is an extra charge to drop them at Eno Reef].

I just found out on cruise ship days the Woodwind has a different schedule.
On Cruise Ship days Woodwind arranges 4 hour trips but NOT TO KLEIN. It is too crowded
there when ships are in port so they do a sail with two snorkel stops. Andrea is usually one of them. They still serve the snacks and have the regular open bar.
They start an hour or two after the ship is in port.
Signing up is either on e-mail or direct to Dedrie that is on the dock when
the ship docks. Many days are full so be early with bookings. Feb. 6 and Feb. 20 are already filled with waiting lists.

The Water taxi can only be booked on board the ship. They do not sell on the dock, as they have a contract with most of the ships.
