I will be spending 5 nights in Curacao in August
and after reading so much good things in this site about Bonaire, I want to spend a day in this Island. I would like to fly from Curacao early in the morning, rent a car, do some snorkeling and fly back to Curacao in the afternoon. What is the best way to do it ?
thanks !

stay in curacao and be sure to try some snorkel sites at the SW end of the island...at least try the site at the Bahia Inn...

i luv bonaire but really do not think a one day trip would do much for you;)

Come for a day visit and you'll want to return for a long vacation!

Great snorkeling off Klein Island- there are several boats that ferry passengers over to the island. I like Capt. Mike's.

You will be able to see a lot of what Bonaire has to offer with a quick driving tour of the the island.

No ferry between Curacao and Bonaire -

it is a quick trip (maybe about 5 minutes) on water taxi to Klein

I would suggest you make your airline reservation well in advance and be flexible with the days. You may be better off contacting someone like Rene from Rene's Snorkeling to meet you when you arrive and take you to visit her favorite sites. I know she just showed some friends a seahorse, turtles and a frog fish on their last visit to the island. Since you have such a short time planned, it may help to make the most of each hour on Bonaire.

Sonia
Nobody told you the WAY to go is Divi Divi Air. Their website (http://www.baibini.com/) really has nothing on it except a picture of one of the planes and phone numbers. From US 011599-9-888-1050 or 011599-9-563-1913.

Thank you guys for your help. We are leaving CUR at 8am on Divi Divi air and meeting Renee at Divi Divi Flamingo at 9:30 am. It was very easy to get hold of Renee and Divi Divi air via internet, thank you so much for sending the sites, I hope to get as much information as possible for next trip. About car rental, any suggestions?

I use AB but I got a decent discount for a three week rental. For a single day? Maybe Budget or AB or ...

BTW, Divi Divi is great and the plane right is blast!

Mickey nailed it for you. It is a 15 minute flight, and I think it will be well worth it for you. Their planes run very on time, and they are very dependable. I wish all airlines ran like Divi.
