Well Sandy it depends on what you like. I have snorkeled the mangroves twice and that's about enough for me. Very fascinating ecosystem but very cloudy, full of stringy algae, hard to see the fish, but the mangrove roots are very unique and worth seeing at least once. One friend of mine, after her first snorkel in the mangroves, remarked, "Well that was very interesting but I don't think I would want to do it again. That was the closest thing to a snorkel in a house of horrors!"

We did the guided kayak - snorkel trip in March. On the particular day that we went the current was very strong where we snorkeled. Plus a young girl kept standing on the bottom stirring up the sand. The visibility was extremely murky.

Thanks to all for the info. I believe that we will try the tour. We will be on Bonaire for 2 weeks and want to experience it all.
