This is my last day on Bonaire. We are just ending our first trip to Bonaire. The snorkling has been GREAT!! I have been in the water for as much as 9 hours in one day. My wife says I should have been a fish. I did a day trip with Dee and a few night snorkles with her. The last trip which was last night was GREAT!! It was just Her and I. She took my underwater camara and got me some great shots. She can stay under the water for a long time. She is due in July so she is barley showing anything. I also did 2 day trips with Renee and a night snorkle. She is getting over a broken ankle and is really getting around good. She dove down and pointed out octopus and other things. Both of these gals are very proffesional and will bend over backwards to help you out. This is my first time to Bonaire and here is a small list of the things I have seen. Seahorses, tarpon, barracuda, flounder, squid, spotted eagle rays, octopus, eals, crabs, lobster, shrimp, worms, blooming coral at night, and fish, fish, fish, and the list goes on and on. Thank You Dee and Renee!!! Kent Gerber

Kent, glad you enjoyed your trip. You have been guided by 2 very professional women. Darlene, the seahorse is between the cruise ship dock and the mainland. You wil probably need Dee to show you. It is worth seeing, expecially at night.

I echo Kent's comments about De & Renee!! Both were fantastic with us. We bit the bullet and decided to try night snorkeling this trip and wonder what on earth we were afraid of .. it was fabulous ... no creepies to worry about at all. What was even more awesome was De's invitation to do a night snorkel at the town pier! I had not even thought about doing the town pier because of what seemed to be a lot of hassle (permission, passport # etc), but De was amazing! We walked into town and snorkeled back to the Divi .. a 2 hour snorkel (we were wishing it was longer). De provided wet suits, flash lights and charged a mere $20.00. She did tell us that she likes to have an idea of how well the person can handle themselves in water before taking them out at night, so if you want to night snorkel with her, you should probably do a Woodwind excursion first. This was our first experience in a wet suit and what a hoot .. we felt like 'roly-polys' in the water and kept bumping into everyone LOL!! De was very patient as we rolled and twisted our way back along the shore. BTW, DE told us she learned how to swim 7 years ago ..watching her dive down to point out fish etc was like watching the 'little mermaid' :o)

Cheryl,
I had to laugh when you mentioned the "roly-poly"
feel of the wet-suit. Until last year, I had just worn my wet-suit with weights and BC. Snorkeling with a wet-suit is a different matter. I could hardly get my feet/fins pointed down....or to do a quick turnaround. You know exactly what I mean! :-) Even with the wet-suit, I was a little chilled on our night snorkel. I'm glad you tried something new AND enjoyed it!

The 2 sea horses were at the town pier. It was a night snorkle with Dee. Between the pier and shore.

Thanks Linda, all I could think of was those Tele Tubbies (?) the colorful cartoon creatures that were popular in the '90's... I forget their names right now. We sure laughed a lot on that snorkel!! In fact we still split our sides laughing when we think of putting on the wet suits ... like putting one's leg where the arm goes .... yes! We'll blame it on the darkness LOL!!

Cheryl,
The first time I tried on a wet-suit, I put in on backwards and couldn't figure out what the rubber strips BEHIND my knees were used for.....how 'bout knee pads when worn correctly! HA :-) Putting on a wet-suit...worse than pantyhose!
