Hi everybody
Arriving at Bonaire in two weeks for the first time. I'm aware that the sun down there is very strong and it would be wise to wear a diveskin for snorkeling. I been browsing the internet and haven't been able to find one that can be sent to me in time for departure. Can they be bought once on the island and how expensive are they.

Also, can anybody recomend a good snorkeling course? Travelling with my mum who had a bit of a scare once and now need to rebuild her confidence in the water. And I would like to learn to freedive. Any suggestions?

Thank you so much for a wonderful web site.

Hi the dive store at Carib Inn sells skins for a very reasonable price. He also sells 3mil shorties which I like.
I would suggest doing some guided snorkel with Renee from WWW.reneesnorkeltrips.com . She will teach you all you need to know and will show you some really great stuff!
Another fun day would be to do a sail and snorkel on the Woodwind. It sails from the Divi Hotel and does a two snorkel sail with lunch, snacks and drinks served while sailing.www.woodwindbonaire.com

Great Darlene. Thanks for the tip, will definitely look into the snorkel-trips with Renee. She's got lot of good comments on BT I noticed. And what goes for the dive skin..is it "enough" protection to use a shorty? Afraid my legs will get burned :-)

If your legs are not covered your legs can burn. I know from experience!! It's not fun!

ALSO,
While not in the water, PROTECT the TOPs of your feet!

Iben, Renee is still getting over a broken ankle but we are suppose to do some snorkling with her. Hope she is fine.

Thanks guys, for all tips and advice. Will probably go for a full body dive skin as I don't want my holiday ruined by sun burn...and Chet, I will remember to protect my feet as well:-)It's something you can easily miss, so thanks for tip.
