When we snorkle in Aruba, there are some places that the fish are used to being fed. We put bread in a bottle and top it off with ocean water. When you want to feed the fish, take off the cap and squeeze a little bit. The fish come flocking and sometimes they suck right off the bottle. Like I said, they are used to being fed. When we snorkle in Bonaire, I just didn't know if they do anything like that. Or if there are places to do this. I know if the fish are not used to it, they don't even bother eating the bread. Thanks for any advise. Kent Gerber

Kent, feeding fish on Bonaire is highly discouraged. They come to rely on these feedings (as you mentioned). I have never heard of any place or anyone that feeds the fish on a regular basis, nor in the fashion you describe on Aruba.

I just read over the Bonaire Marine Park rules on line - fish feeding in the Bonaire Marine Park is not allowed.

Thanks Marcus, I thought it might be against marine park rules. There have been occasional reports of fish feeding, however, if it is against marine park rules, you may certainly get in trouble if you post it online. A couple years back a man posted several pictures of him holding fish on his Bonaire dives. Marine Park Authorities saw them, and that man is now no longer allowed to dive on Bonaire...
