I never saw this mentioned (maybe it was on the diving thread or I'm the only one this stupid), but believe it or not this can happen.

Having forgotten my vinegar/alcohol solution, I bought some drops for $3 at Botika. On my third snorkel of the afternoon, I accidentally left the bottle in the car in the sun. So, after a relaxing 45 minute snorkel, I come out, and put the drops in my ear. YOUCH! I saw stars, it felt like I had poured boiling water in there. Had discomfort for four days afterward and light earaches, but no permanent damage. Very lucky.

Please don't let that happen to you. :-)

Thanks for the tip, Carl! Glad to hear you did not suffer any permanent damage! That sounds like it musta hurt! Yikes! I keep our drops at home and when we go home for a break or lunch use them then and then again at end of day.

Carl, Get a set of Doc's Pro Plugs and you will never have to use the drops again..
