I was told that all snorkeling sites in Washington Slagbaai were devastated (by Lenny?) Has anyone been there, lately? Please, report.

We were there last year two weeks after Ivan and just returned from our second trip two days ago. I thought Wayaka 2 and Slagbaai are worse now than last time we were there. Definitely would not make the trip through the park just to snorkle.

Ray and Pam are correct, in my opinion. Last year our best snorkel spot was Wayaka II, this year February it was rather dissapointing to us. We prefered the southern spots now, like Tori's Reef.

Tori's is awesome! Our favorite snorkel... abundant fish life, lively coral, easy current, easy entry/exit.

We didn't get to do many on the South side, just Invisibles which was good, saw a spotted eagle ray there and another couple we talked to said Margate and really good. I liked all the North side sites, Andrea 1 and 2, we saw two dolphins underwater and about a dozen squid at 2. Jeff Davis was good, 1000 steps was my favorite, saw a Ray and squid there and Ol Blue was Pams favorite. We also saw dolphins while we were in town and sitting at Pink Beach.

Oh, another good spot was North of Windsock by the orange building. There's a nice little beach there we went in at and headed south before we could turn back out deeper and head North, the dropoff is real close and not too deep. A good sized barracuda watched us also.

The past two years I have been snorkeling at the site closest to the Salt Pier (called Salt City). In fact, if you are a good swimmer and free diver, the Salt Pier is awesome. You might want to check when it is allowed. Never go when there are ships anchored there and the salt is loaded.
